So today is the 2nd of April, day of my strongman contest!( its only 12:30 am, but hey!) so tommorow im gonna crush the events and do my best! Updates afterwards once i get home!
Just got back from the comp, placed 6th out of 18, my own fault, made 2 dumb mistakes and hurt my knee, will make a article on what happend, but too tired now, so tommorow updates!
Event 1. Medley
I knew speed wouldnt be much of a problem, i ran with the keg and washingmachine, but i have only done the duckwalk twice, and this one had a long handle, that caused it to hit on my legs in each step, very painful en very akward to do, so lost points here that i shouldnt have
Event 2. Weight for height
Never trained this, had i trained it once, i wouldve def won this event, lots mega amount of points here
Event 3. OH medley
Easy weight, good speed, jsut ahd to press faster after the cleans, 3rd place here
Event 4. Hussafeld stone
Never done this, heavy on the breathing and my legs were on fire, need to work on conditioning, ASAP
Event 5. Deadlift
210, easy, 230, easy, 250....strongman easy, coulve doen 255/260 with hitch of course
Event 6. Stones
Was tired, hurt and didnt do it enough
Started to get some knee pain a couple of weeks ago, got worse after last PP max attempt, and really hurt it during the duckwalk, felt it throughout the contest, limited me somewhat on the stones and hussafeld
Overall im happy, good to know that i didnt lose because of lack of strength, but lack of conditioning and some dumb mistakes, good learning experience!
