Stronger bench than Ronnie.

Are you serious? This is not even close.:umwtf:

Ronnie never benched pass 495/500lbs for 5.

Ronnie benches 495 for 5 in The Cost of Redemption.:bullwhip:

Either way, ronnie's bench wasnt the greatest.

This cannot be real. I am in complete disbelief of what is going on here. The guy is only retired a couple years and already people are forgetting what he has done. Ronnie Coleman is the strongest bodybuilder to ever live. I wish I could find the video of him benching 495 for 10, not to mention 200lb dumbbells for 12 reps easy...

He has also squatted and dead lifted 855. Most people are just used to seeing him in his videos. He has done so many other impressive lifts that have not been seen... He trains with moderate to high reps like a bodybuilder but he uses power lifters weights. The guy is one of a kind and if he intended to be the strongest person to ever live, he would have succeeded.:thumbsup2:

^^ I agree. He was handed a CoC gripper at a show once. He was just standing there in a suit getting ready to present some trophy or other. So he takes one of the toughest grippers in the world, which only a handful of men have close, mashes this gripper with no set, no warmup and no real psyche-up.

I doubt Ronnie ever really trained grippers, yet there it was, elite world class on a whim.

Who? Stan Efferding is the only one who comes close and he is power lifter who won his pro card at a masters show. He isn't a true bodybuilder. The only pro bodybuilder who came even remotely close to Ronnie's bench strength was Kevin Levrone. Besides him and the aforementioned Stan Efferding, nobody is even close to Ronnie on any lift... :talkhand:

Stan is a pro and that's that. No one ever said Ronnie wasn't the strongest top tier bodybuilder. they just said pro bodybuilder, and by facts, Stan is a pro. Saying that Stan isn't a true bodybuilder is irrelevant in this case. Yeah, if you want to talk about bodybuilders who were actually successful, of course Ronnie is the strongest, but that's not what's being said here.

No one is taking anything away from Ronnie. We all know he's one of the strongest bodybuilders in history and if he chose the path of a powerlifter, possibly could've been the strongest powerlifter ever. But let's face facts, Stan Efferding is now the strongest bodybuilder ever.

Didnt Levrone and Kai bench more then ronnie? Im not saying ronnie wasnt the strongest, all i was saying is that his bench wasn'nt the best.

Levrone did 495 for 3 and Kai did 495 for 4 very hard reps. I already told you, Ronnie did this for ten reps easy. I know in The Cost of Redemption he only gets 5, but this is after 135 x 30, 225 x 15, 315 x 12, 405 x 10. It is safe to say he may have been a little exhausted after this. I wish I could find a video of this. :bitenails: Either way, I understand what you are saying now. It is just in your first couple posts you came off as yeah Ronnie's squat and deadlift are good and his bench not so much... This is where I disagree. Every single one of Ronnie's lift are in the top percentage of the entire world. In many ways to me, Ronnie is the strongest man to ever live. The guy has been bodybuilding his whole life and never solely tried to get stronger. His main goal was to get bigger. If he ever concentrated on just power lifting, who knows what may have happened...:turborun:

Your point is taken. :gaysign: I undertsnad you are not taking anything away from Ronnie, although I did feel others were... For arguments sake I was trying to acknowledge Stan, while attempting to leave him out of the conversation. You are right. Stan Efferding is an IFBB pro bodybuilder and right now he is the strongest around. However, it is safe to say he has been a power lifter for many years who turned to bodybuilding. If Ronnie had left bodybuilding for power lifting, we could all agree he would have been more successful than Stan. Anyone can be great at one thing. It does not require much to concentrate all your efforts in one fixed place. To be good in multiple things requires greater effort and it truly test ones mentally ability to adapt to new changes. :thumbsup2:

When did Kai benched 5 plates (495) for 4 reps?

all I've seen him do, is in this vid, for 3 assisted reps... true after a lot of sets before, and 1 week out I think? from the '09 O. Are there other vids of him benching for more?

Then Kevin Levrone did 4 reps with 495 (3 if you don't count the last one where he's being assisted)

And now Ronnie with 5 reps, same weight, not the same ROM as Kevin or Kai, but he still owns imo.

Also I didn't knew that he benched 495 for 10 reps??? not that is hard to believe, esp when we're talking about Ronnie, but where did u see that?

Where did you see ronnie doing 495 for 10 reps? he barely got 5 "ronnie" reps there

Ronnie's 200lb DB press is sick though

A you tube video from about 6 years ago. It must have been some power lifting meet in Texas. I remember seeing guys were trying to bench 495 for reps. It must have been a spectator filming. The quality was horrible, although the length was decent. It was nothing official just some lifters messing around. Guys were doing a couple reps respectively when all of the sudden you can see Ronnie steps up to try. He does an easy set of 10 gets up an smiles all while people stare in amazement. I also remember something similar at an event or meet where Ronnie squatted 585 for ten reps. The guy is amazing...

From what have you explained there, the first thing that came to mind was this, although Ben got "only" 9 reps:

No, I did not mean this.:shakefist: I know this is Ben White. Its really funny because I thought somebody was going to post this, assuming this is what I meant. The video I am speaking about is similar in structure, but it is from about 6 years ago. The camera angle was also from the side view of the bench. Lulz @ "Only" 9 reps. That is amazing every time I watch it. I think that was 505...:headbang:
