Everyone that has ever considered a cycle knows about PCT...well, lets at least hope. But, most people do not know about the supplements you can take when ON to stay healthy. These supps can even be used for the general health nut seeking to improve his health and quality if life.

Liv-52:
I could go on about Liv-52 but this website has a plethora of links to satisfy your research needs.
http://liv52.com/
There's 259 links to various studies which support the use of Liv-52 and liver function. Start reading!
Dandelion Root
Ah-HA! I knew those damn weeds had to be good for something. Not only does it help to protect the liver but it also aids in urinary tract functions.
Link: http://www.nutrasanus.com/dandelion.html
Summary: Stick with Liv-52. Some people have said milk thistle does nothing for them but Liv-52 has the research and results you want to see when it comes to something as serious as your health. Of course, the Dandelion Root is good as well but Liv-52 is an absolute must!
Heart, Cholesterol & Blood Pressure
Cardio
...as in "real" cardio. Working in your target beats per minute zone ([220 - age] x 0.6). None of this walk on the treadmill reading FLEX magazine crap.
Hawthorne Berry Extract
Link: http://www.mehndiskinart.com/heart.htm
Policosanol
Just like milk thistle this supp is somewhat "up in the air" as to whether or not it is truly effective. I figured I'd throw it in here.
Link: http://www.raysahelian.com/policosanol.html
Red Yeast Rice
Link: http://www.umm.edu/altmed/ConsSupplements/RedYeastRicecs.html
Summary: Again, stick with what has been proven...Hawthorne Berry extract, Red Yeast Rice, cardio and a clean, clean diet.

Prostate health is something every single male should be concerned about. Prostate problems are very common in males.
Saw Palmetto

Immune System
N-acetylcysteine (NAC)
This supp has been shown to boost immune system function along with the body's production of glutathione (a powerful anti-oxident).

Vitamin-C
I would also recommend taking a Vitamin-C supp such as Ester-C.

Anti-Aging
Idebenone
I wasn't sure what to put this under because it does a little bit of everything:

Kidneys
Cranberry Juice
Yea, I admit it; this stuff tastes horrible. Very bitter and every time I drink it I feel like I'm gona' puke. But hey, it's great for the kidneys and that's what we're after here.

Alright, that's pretty much it everyone. Of course, there are many known herbs out there to help with all of these functions but these are the most popular and proven herbs out there. Also, these supps are more for the beginner and perhaps intermediate cycles. For the intermediate/advanced user, more powerful supps should be taken or perhaps prescription meds.

Liver Support:
Milk Thistle
Very popular among liver support for prevention and treatment of liver related problems.
Many professional herbalists recommend milk thistle extract for the prevention and/or treatment of various liver disorders including viral hepatitis, fatty liver associated with long term alcohol use, and liver damage from drugs and industrial toxins such as carbon tetrachloride.

Liv-52:
I could go on about Liv-52 but this website has a plethora of links to satisfy your research needs.
Liv-52 is a unique, all-natural, complex multi-ingredient formula. It is safe and effective in portecting the liver against harmful toxins from drugs, alcohol, food and water. Liv52 helps regulate levels of enzymes and optimizes assimilation. Liv-52 ( Liv52 ) has also been found to be associated with an increase in serum albumin, which is another indication of the liver protection it provides. Recent work shows that Liv52 has cholesterol-regulating action. Clinically, it helps maintain healthy levels of serum cholesterol, lipoproteins, phospholipids and triglycerides.

Hawthorne Berry Extract
Hawthorn has won acclaim in large-scale clinical studies on cardiac failure. In 1998, in a double blind placebo-controlled study, Dr NH Mashour and his collaborators showed that Hawthorn consumption leads to a sharp decrease in cardiac failure symptoms, stage II.(8) In a smaller study, 60 patients suffering from angina received 60 mg of Hawthorn 3 times daily. The researchers noted a significant improvement of coronary perfusion (quantity of blood flow) and a reduction of oxygen consumption, resulting in an increased effort capacity.(9)

Policosanol
Just like milk thistle this supp is somewhat "up in the air" as to whether or not it is truly effective. I figured I'd throw it in here.
Dr. Sahelian says: The research thus far with policosanol is not conclusive. Some studies show policosanol is helpful in reducing cholesterol while others do not show it to be effective at all.

Red Yeast Rice
Recently, the UCLA School of Medicine conducted a study involving 83 people with high cholesterol levels. Those who received red yeast rice over a 12-week period experienced a significant reduction in total cholesterol, LDL ("bad") cholesterol, and triglycerides (fatty substances that can also accumulate in the blood stream and cause damage to blood vessels) compared to those who received placebo. HDL ("good") cholesterol did not change in either group during the study.

Saw Palmetto
At 6, 12, 18, and 24 months, the International Prostate Symptom Score (I-PSS), quality of life, and sexual function score were recorded, and urodynamics and biologic values were measured. Adverse events were recorded every 3 months. I-PSS and quality of life improved significantly from baseline at each evaluation time point. At the end of the study and at each evaluation, maximum urinary flow also improved significantly. Prostate size decreased. Sexual function remained stable during the first year of treatment and significantly improved (P = .001) during the second year. Prostate-specific antigen was not affected, and no changes in plasma hormone levels were observed. Nine patients reported 10 adverse events, none related to treatment. Improvements in efficacy parameters began at 6 months and were maintained up to 24 months.

Cranberry has long been linked to helping defeat urinary tract infections, and recent research is beginning to bear this out. To see how this can be, we should first look at our kidneys.
