Good effort on the deads dude. The thought of 7 reps made me kinda nauseous.

PV: Thanks dude. I was especially happy given how stiff and sore I was this entire week.

Freako: I can remember when 3 reps was a high rep deadlift day!!

Natzo: iPod! Of course I can just put on the sound system, but the neighbours kids are a bit young for metal to be blasting across the fence.

Was flat, tired and pretty ordinary leading into this session.

Bench
60kg x5
80kg x5

100kg x5
115kg x3
127.5kg x3 - 4th rep wouldn't go to lockout so can't count it, thought I was good for 5-6.

DB thick bar row
50kg x15 2 sets

Floor press
112.5kg x8 2 sets - was pausing elbows on the ground each rep, made it much harder than previous weeks.

Chinups
20kg x6 - :ugh:

BB bicep curl
42.5kg x12

Rope tricep ext
BW x15

Soundtrack:

Dominating those thick bar rows! :borat: What diameter? I'm looking into getting a pair of handles and haven't decided between 2" or 2.5". I don't think my fingers are long enough for 3".

^^ It is an old piece of steel pipe, just over 2", probably closer to 2.25".

I have a 2.5" as well, but that is just a little big in my hands for it to be anything other than grip work. So I'd reckon you'd want 2".

Rob: Bon Jovi wouldn't get a look in on my iPod!

PV: I've surprised myself with those. The rows were really a mental roadblock rather than a physical one. I had no energy left when I got to them last night but forced myself to do them, so if I was fresher I'd have gone for 20. Try using a DB you can row for 10 reps and just tell yourself you're doing 20 this week. You'll probably surprise yourself and then be able to start adding weight. I've added 10kg to this in the past couple of months.

^^ Yeh just not as many sets as I would do normally. Plus I wanted to try them out to get a feel for them before next week. I'm trying to get some practice at using my knee wraps as a light strapping, such that they don't give bounce but do give support. The BBer I met the other day used them in this manner and I've only really gotten the balance right once (and normally only on my left knee).

Lionheart: the reason I started doing them was because I was looking for a tricep exercise that didn't hurt my elbows. I had been doing them as a sissy tricep ext but that wasn't hard enough anymore.

Freako: cheers Ben!

pingu: wait until a non-deload week!

Rob: I'm noticing my shoulders and back as well. Need to unwind more regularly now that I'm older.

PV: Those ext are a great option if you don't have cable machines and the like.

Shoulder day today. Just a quick in and out deload. Felt like I barely got warmed up by the time I finished.

OHP
20kg x8
27.5kg x5
35kg x5
42.5kg x5 - *yawn* barely any weight

Behind the neck jerk
65kg x10 - could have done more reps but that wasn't the goal this week, so I'll add weight next week.

Pullups
25kg x10 - tore my callouses on the left hand, kinda lame.

Dips
35kg x10 - barely warmed up enough for these

Pickle: They actually felt heavy for the first time in months. Same weight as the week before.....

Natzo: Dips were affected by my lack of being warmed-up properly. If I'd done a second set I would have easily done 15 or more reps.

Decided to skip the last deload day and jump into Cycle 4 week 1. Fucked up my squat this evening, in that I just did 5 reps rather than maxing out. They felt good this evening too, so was probably good for 8-10 reps :disgust:

ATG squat
60kg x5
80kg x5

105kg x5 - sitting back more to try and correct form
120kg x5
137.5kg x5 - didn't max out, forgot: lame :disgust:

High box squat - did these really sitting back and keeping upright with a low bar position
150kg x5
150kg x5 - these were so hard with the pause (did 10 last week)
100kg x10
100kg x10

SLDL
90kg x15
90kg x15
90kg x8
90kg x8

SL calf raise
37kg x10 2 sets

Soundtrack:

Need to buy a Big Muff fuzz pedal for my guitar rig.
