Got about as close to lifting as sitting upright on the couch instead of laying down. Though today maybe, beautiful weather for lifting heavy shit :xyxthumbs:

Without your sexiness I am nothing :D
Yeh I've got to start doing some cardio, get rid of some of the stress (it's leading to the depression) and look at cleaning up my diet a bit. :xyxthumbs: But given diastolic is fine it really is down to lifestyle factors, that and the gram a day coke habit :bowroflarms:

Pickle: Don't worry dude, I'd never touch anything illegal.

Skeptic: Sex, drugs, lead guitar!!!! I rewrote that to Sex, weights, lead guitar.

PrinceVegeta: Hangover didn't last as long as the lethargy, but I got it done today.

Ok so after I put my fist through my computer in frustration with the paper I'm writing I decided it was time to lift some weights. It was either that or go Michael Douglas in Falling Down.

Donkey calf raise single leg

55kg x10 +10 with both legs
55kg x10 +10 with both legs

Squat
100kg x2 (after power clean to shoulder)
130kg x5 (had 8 but lacked intenstinal fortitude)
130kg x5 (ditto)
130kg x5 (this was on the limit)

Standing calf raise
130kg x8 toes in x8 toes out
130kg x8 toes out x8 toes in

Happy with the squats aside from the lack of intenstinal fortitude to finish the sets off. Hang snatches are now approaching what I previously snatched from the floor.

Philo: yep I'm only a week or two away from a PB and tying half BW around my waist for reps.

Pickle: they aren't the typical lateral raises. I do them in the scapular plane (from the leg instead of from the front) and only go half to 2/3 of the way up. That way it minimises the traps involvement and doesn't put too much stress on the joint. Of course I'm only doing it to fix up an imbalance.

Hypo: thanks dude, and yes the Pumpkins do rock!

Big_guns_lance: thanks dude. I was surprised I could curl anything after the chins!

Ok last nights workout was the Usain Bolt PB workout.
usainbolt080819ap_792948c-1.jpg

Last night I did rack deadlifts from just above the knee for the first time in over 3 years. The last time I did them my knee was au naturelle' and I was ~83kg and had been training them for 12 weeks. Last night at 88kg I blitzed my previous best by 46kg without training for it.

Snatch grip deadlift from the floor (first time I have ever done these)
60kg x5
80kg x5
100kg x5
140kg x2
150kg x2 PB (this doesn't mean much as a PB but still felt easy)

Rack deadlift
177.5kg x2
197.5kg x2
207.5kg x2 (easy as so went to....)
227.5kg x2
237.5kg x2
247.5kg x2
257.5kg x1 PB

I possible could have had a second rep. I was actually running out of plates as I had been using a loading pin on each side from 177.5kg upwards. I don't know if I could actually add more weight to the bar without extra loading pins or more olympic sized plates.

Split squat
95kg x5
95kg x6

Hammy curl
25kg x5
25kg x7

DB Calf raise
52kg x10
52kg x10

Standing calf raise (held contraction)
95kg x 15

Thanks rageking!!

I was so pumped after I did it. But I wanted to be able to add another 5kg to see what my real max was.

Thanks Pickle!

I'd say the postage will kill us! I think I need some bumper plates anyway!
Plan on lowering the pin height to gradually get that off the floor, like I did last time I did rack deads
