Ok just finished lifting. Couple of things different tonight. C&J I noticed that the lowering phase from the jerk reps was hurting my elbow, so I just dropped singles. I'll have to practice dropping to the shoulder. The other thing was I tried out the hook grip. It is hard to get right and was only good up to 160kg. I'll keep practicing this, mainly because I like having pain in my thumbs........

Hypo: I can't wait to try out a max effort on snatches. The 80% is feeling good at 75kg, so I'm guessing 90-95kg will go up nicely.

Lionheart: Yeh the hammy hasn't had anything really heavy on it since December. Gotta give it an easy run into heavy stuff. Plus doing the activation exercises has really started getting the hammys working.

^^ Will do. Wrist is feeling better, not 100% but better.

Did some rowing last night.

2000m in 8:50 then contined rowing for 25mins total.

Cardio is getting better, and I can sustain a higher pace now for the first 2000m. If I can knock another minute off the time then I'll be averaging a <2:00min/500m time rating.

I'm due for a heavy session soon, so I'll try and get some vids. I'd also like to get my C&J on video, as last time the battery went flat. It should also act as a guide for me to get under the bar better. At the moment I do more of a power snatch and power clean, and I'd like to do more of a full squat version (as I have the mobility to).

I'm here because i heard something about gfs pictures... j/k i love checking your log from time to time as it's unconventional and it often gives me some new ideas for my own workouts.

Pickle: 90kg is my ~80% day, so expect something more like 110kg next week.

El Freako: Lol. More like she is completely against the idea of me posting any photos of vids of her on the internet. Technically as govt employees we aren't meant to anyway, as we represent the agency and therefore are acting on behalf of our minister. I'm going to train with my brother Wednesday and Thursday at a gym somewhere. Should be fun. May video it, may not. Not even sure what we'll do, as most gyms have some skinny little trainer come over and ask you not to do O-lifts and sometimes for deadlifts too. Hell my brother and his mate got told off for squatting too heavy one time (his mate was a national level sprinter doing some 200kg squats).

Couldn't train yesterday as I got back late from setting up a field experiment. On the plus side we found a great little pub in the middle of no-where :xyxthumbs:

Thanks guys.

No pics or vids of workout as it didn't happen. We got the gym equipment for my brother and got it set up, but it was too late to lift. We did a couple of sets to see that the setup was solid and would work. It is a pretty decent setup aside from not having safety supports, the racks can be used for squatting as the uprights have spacing between them.

Came with an olympic bar and 135kg of weights. He'll need some more weight reasonably quickly as his deadlift form is terrific (his squat needs a lot of work) and he has always had a naturally big bench (benched BW the first time he stepped into a gym, did it last night too without having lifted in years). Plus I'd say that a couple of boxes could be the go for pulls, and safety supports for bench and squats.
