^^ Thanks dude. I'm sure if you keep practicing it you'll get better.

I'm likely to take a week off from lifting this week. I'm hoping to get some weightlifting shoes this week so I may get tempted to try them out but aside from that it will be some recovery time :linedrunk:

^^ Always has to be someone with the snatch joke

:rofl3:

The place that was meant to sell weightlifting shoes didn't. It sold wrestling shoes..... kinda different. So I'm still hunting. I'm missing lifting already even though it has only been a few days. On the plus side we're going shopping with our K-Rudd Kash for a rowing machine and may be able to find some lifting shoes.

what's the difference between the wrestling and weightlifting shoes?

personally I love my wrestling shoes but haven't lifted in them but I could see why they would be great when squatting
real flat and lots of grip which wouldnt allow for any slipping at all

^^ Wrestling shoes have little to no heel, and generally tie to above the ankle (correct?)

Weightlifting shoes have a hard sole, usually made of wood, with a heel of somewhere around 1". The hardness of the sole and the elevated heel puts the body in a good position to lift and squat but without the soft cushioning that can upset the motion.

Think of weightlifting shoes as sports shoes with a hard sole. If you have ever squatted in a running shoe you will know that spongy feeling you can get when squatting. Not something that is good for a solid, heavy squat.

Wrestling Lyon: check the new article I posted. The guy in the vids is wearing them.

El Freako: We could have heaps of snatch jokes. Stuff like; I've got a big snatch, it's from all the stretching my penis does. etc etc etc.

Well the weightlifting shoes were a bust. I could only find lame ones that were meant for powerlifters (which they don't wear anyway). Every store I called they had no idea what I was on about. I also went through a few shoe stores and they couldn't help either. One store we went into and I described what I wanted to one of the clerks that we had to drag away from a riveting conversation he was having with the other clerks. He then proceeded to show my Nike Shox, saying that all the "weightlifters" at Fitness First wore these....:angrydude: I re-explained more slowly this time and he finally got it, said they didn't have any, and went back to his precious little conversation while I spotted a pair of shoes that would have done the trick. So I thought; FUCK HIM and left.

On the plus side we bought a rowing machine. The missus will now be happy and I may actually do more cardio than the 3-5mins of skipping I do now.

^^ Yeh I know about the online sales, I was actually hoping to try some on before buying was the thing. If I look through any of my shoes (and clothes for that matter) I take a range of sizes, dependant on brand and style. Not really keen on ordering a pair from outer Mongolia only to find that they are too narrow or a half size small.

But as I have no other option I will order some soonish. Probably figure out which ones I like the most. Do-Wins are getting good raps, and they seem to be less narrow and tall like the AdiStar and Nike Vegesaus (sp?).
