Skeptic: videos would be nice, if my god-damned camera would stay charged :crymeariver:
Samoan:
PV: I'd suggest starting with just a bar to get the balance and feel for them, maybe even just a broomstick. Then probably want to get the bar on the shoulder and press it into position with a medium to wide grip (I grab the rings with my index finger). Remember to keep your back in a lordic or neutral brace and weight on your heels and have plenty of clear space to drop the bar and jump out of the way.
Well I went to tape last nights session and the camera died as I was setting it up. Stupid batteries. It will work tonight though.

El Freako: The missus thinks that my hip thrust is fine, but then again she doesn't weigh 110kg (thank christ!).
Samoan: Overextending was the reason for the low reps. See what I can comfortably lift for a single on the C&J and snatch. That way I know how I'm progressing.
Ok I've done something to my right wrist. I can't figure out what exactly as it felt fine after weights the other night and it didn't have any repetitive strain that evening...... I can only think that the sitting at the computer typing + C&J has flared it up. Either way I had to cut the snatches short and be carefull on the bench and rows.

couldn't handle any arms work with the wrist so called it early.
Samoan: Interestingly my friend's son is a big Iron Maiden fan and he goes around humming Fear of the Dark. He's 8 or 9yrs old and goes to a catholic school, so it is really funny.
Natureboy: Good to sse you back I'm getting bit more explosive, but a long way to go yet.
Lionheart: Lulz! I do a variation on the leg extension called a weighted step up! I do actually occassionally do leg ext as a warmup for the knee and VMO activation. But that is with really light weight and more about moving the joint than exercising.
Ok got a few details about joining the weightlifting world from one of the clubs. Basically it will cost me $50pa to join a club with $4 per visit. Then I also have to be a member of the W.A. Weightlifting Inc (State body) in order to compete. That is $90pa. And apparently there is a sports store that does stock weightlifting shoes, but apparently not cheaply.
So I think the shoes are what is going to be the expensive bit. Although I'm not sure how often I'll get to use the club facilities and coaching as I'm not in the city that often. Thoughts guys?
^^ Didn't get to test it this week but it should be around 90kg, which is my previous best. I'm guessing that it won't take long to get better than that. Technique and flexibility are improving which should be great.
