Freako: Smolov you say.......... I think I have another 6 weeks of this to go. Might be an idea.

Bulky: They were just a warmup. I'll go back to them when I max again. My goal is to max ATG squats some time in the next 6-8 weeks.

Freako: Back when this log was esoteric rather than mundane.

Miami: Thanks Kai!

Well I avoided getting rained on while I was lifting, but everything else got wet.

I've been listening to the album while I'm lifting the last few days. Have to say that it really is ordinary. I remember being absolutely blown away the first time I heard Appetite, and had a similar feeling on the first listen to Use Your Illusion. Axl you wasted 15yrs. :talkhand:

Kurt and Ben: I'm not sure what you want me to do. Are you suggesting my next program should be Smolov??

Didn't really want to train this arvo. My wrist is still playing up. I think I am going to have to drop the weightlifting for a few weeks.

Somewhere around 105-110kg.

It is why I'm a little annoyed with only getting two sets at 90kg as that is essentially the first real sets that will actually help improve my max.

I really need to be able to practice the clean and the jerk seperately so that I can focus on the technique for multiple reps. But without a real lifting platform and enough height clearance at my rack this just won't happen (bumper plates would be nice too).

We move house soon, so I may have the chance to set up a bit better.

No snatches today, let the wrist recover. Doing the upper DE session without a weightlifting exercise made it all feel so easy.

Freako: I think as much as anything I've got to stop aggrievating it. We're moving house soon so I'll have a break from training anyway.

coO5: The fatman pullups? Those are good fun to do.

Bulky: I've sucked at overhead pressing for ages now, ever since I set my PB. I'm gradually getting better at it :xyxthumbs:

Tonight was almost an interrupted session. Fortunately I made it back in time to finish/start the session.

Overhead squats are nice, quite the respectable exercise as well (at least when performed correctly). Most guys I see attempt that exercise make me cringe and grab my knees. It's usually performed with a half squat and on the toes. It's nasty.

Squats are looking sick, how'd you feel the day after? Also, I've always been curious, what is your PB with the squat? I assume it was prior knee injury?

Ironheart: Thanks :tiphat:

Jono: Not necessarily a bigger or better setup in the short-term. But there is the chance to build a dedicated gym in a shed and have a proper lifting platform eventually.

Clint: My squat has only really been what I'd consider decent since I did my knee as I had to swallow my pride and learn to squat properly. My best parrallel was 180kg x10 but it was shit form. My current max would be somewhere around 160-165kg ATG and I'd say that I could hit those box squat weights to parra.

Ben: thanks Benno. Expect them to shoot up again soon as I've had a break of a week, if you can call it a break.

Steve: I think I have a pretty solid base and it is just down to how far above that I push.

Yes updates have been a while coming as I have been moving house. Successfully moved and set up. I'll probably lift this arvo. I've got a week or two left of the previous exercises before I change around but I won't bring that forward. I'm looking forward to doing some squatting.
