In a late-breaking turn, Iranian powerhouse Behrouz Tabani has been granted a U.S. visa and confirmed to compete in the 2025 Mr. Olympia. This development injects fresh intrigue into an already fierce lineup and raises serious questions about how Tabani will shake up the final standings.

Tabani’s Visa Saga: From Hopeful Denials to Triumph

Years of Hurdles

Tabani has qualified for the Mr. Olympia each year since 2021, but until now, visa issues have repeatedly barred his entry into the United States. In 2024, his visa was denied yet again. Coach Milos Sarcev revealed that Tabani’s application had languished under “administrative processing” for years, despite his consistent success on the IFBB Pro circuit.

The Breakthrough

On October 1, 2025, Tabani publicly confirmed that his U.S. visa was approved, allowing him to join the Olympia roster. He shared a heartfelt message:

“After four years of waiting, my U.S. visa is dedicated to my beloved people. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood by me.”

Olympia owner Jake Wood, 2019 Mr. Olympia Brandon Curry, and William Bonac all expressed excitement for Tabani’s long-awaited arrival. Milos Sarcev praised his patience and faith, calling it a victory for perseverance.

Qualification Credentials: Why Tabani Belongs on the Stage

Dubai Pro Domination

Tabani secured his Olympia ticket with a dominant win at the 2025 Dubai Pro, where he outclassed elite competitors including William Bonac. That victory not only guaranteed his Olympia qualification but also cemented his standing as one of the sport’s most aesthetic yet powerful athletes.

Consistent Elite Performance

Although denied previous opportunities to compete on the Olympia stage, Tabani has maintained top-tier form. He has consistently placed high in international competitions and remained one of the most complete physiques in the IFBB Pro League. His blend of dense muscle, symmetry, and detail makes him a legitimate threat in any lineup.

2025 Mr. Olympia Open Lineup: Key Names & Structure

Notable Entrants

The 2025 Mr. Olympia roster is one of the most competitive in recent memory. Headlined by Samson Dauda (reigning champion), Hadi Choopan, Derek Lunsford, Nick Walker, Andrew Jacked, Martin Fitzwater, and Rafael Brandao, it promises a battle for the ages. Tabani’s addition to this already stacked field amplifies the anticipation heading into Las Vegas.

Competition Format

Competitors will be judged on:

• Muscle mass and density
• Symmetry and proportions
• Conditioning and separation
• Presentation and posing flow

These criteria determine who can truly present the most balanced and complete physique under the stage lights of the Olympia.

Projected Impact: Where Tabani Could Land

Upset Potential

Tabani is not entering just to participate—he’s entering to disrupt. Experts predict he could finish within the top six, potentially earning his first Olympia callout. His physique combines old-school aesthetics with modern conditioning, something that could appeal strongly to the judges.

Champions Beware

The reigning top contenders can no longer coast.

• Samson Dauda must maintain near-perfect conditioning to defend his title.
• Hadi Choopan, another Iranian great, now faces internal rivalry and national pride on the same stage.
• Nick Walker, Andrew Jacked, and Martin Fitzwater all risk losing crucial placing points if Tabani delivers his best package.

Timing & Final Thoughts

The 2025 Mr. Olympia Weekend takes place from October 9–12 in Las Vegas, and Tabani’s last-minute visa approval may redefine the outcome of the entire event. Despite years of frustration, his perseverance paid off, and his long-awaited debut on bodybuilding’s biggest stage is finally happening. He’s no longer the “what if” competitor—he’s now a legitimate force in the Olympia battle.
