Man, I took some kind of crazy amino acid stuff that I got as a sample with my creatine, and it tingles like crazy! I had to get up and walk around halfway through writing this to get my blood flowing. Feels better now but that was weeeeeird :uhoh2:

I got one of those bars never used it though, nearly hitting 100's on the hammers, and fuck knows about the tingling sounds trippy though

Well, it even says on the package it can cause tingling, but it was still strange.

I guess it's just the amino acid itself. I remember watching some program about a real-life attempt of some guy's wife trying to kill him, so she did it kind of ingeniously. He was a small guy and always trying to get bigger, so she made him what he thought was an amino acid/protein shake but she put pesticides in it. It caused tingling in his body too, but not the good kind. He wasn't the brightest guy in the world, so he kept drinking even after he started to get really sick, plus who would think your wife would poison you like that? He survived with nerve damage, and I think the bitch is locked up somewhere.

Well, that was random :49:

Tweak: But cocaine is my favorite...:tear: I'm lookin' at the 110's for 5 once I get back to the gym at school (nothing over 100 here). I'll have been dieting for about 2 weeks by then so we'll see how it turns out, but I'll give 'er a shot. Arm is much better too, thanks for the concern :xmaswiggle:

TO: Yeah...walking lunges suck, but they really work. Such is life, huh?

So today I thought my gym was open, but it wasn't, so I went for a run instead. Did about 20-25 mintues, then went back and made up a workout with what I had available...and it worked surprisingly well. We have a pullup bar (I just noticed pullup is a palindrome), and my brother had an EZ bar with about 85 lbs worth of weight. Here's how it went down:

12-31-06
1:25-2:45

Running

About 2.5 miles, 20-25 minutes (no watch, not sure on the exact time)
Nice easy start...first time running in over 2 months

Circuit #1
Standing Military Press
85 lbs x 20
Pullups
BW x 6
EZ Bar Rows
85 lbs x 20
Ran through this circuit 4 times

Circuit #2
EZ Bar Front Raises
55 lbs x 10
Side Laterals
15 lbs x 10
Rear Laterals
15 lbs x 10
Ran through this circuit 3 times

Upright Rows
85 lbs x 12
85 lbs x 12
85 lbs x 12
85 lbs x 12

Fascia stretching, regular stretching, abs

Aftermath:
I was quite surprised at how good a workout it was given the circumstances. I had to ghetto-rig the 15 pounders that came off the EZ bar with my wrist straps to do the laterals, lol. I'm happy with it. Time to go party, Happy New Year everyone! :hsughr:

Chesti: Lol, nah, I'm too much of a pussy for that. We actually have a pullup bar in our basement my brother welded together in high school. It's not wide enough, though, so I switched to chinups on my last set of pullups.

Delgado: Yeah man, it went surprisingly well. The circuits were tough, I might incorporate super and giant sets more often.

Yeah, basically. I think they call 'em giant sets if there's three together, but I don't know. I called them circuits because it was higher reps and lighter weight like one might see in circuit training, but it really doesn't matter. Thanks for the comment, I was trying to do something hardcore :punchballs:

Hey, so I've got a few questions I'm going to start researching, but I thought I'd get a few opinions here as well. I'm starting to restrict my diet and eat every three hours, and I'll also be running again. I'm trying to figure out how to minimize muscle loss...I know muscle loss is going to happen with the running, but I enjoy it and it's one of the only ways I can make myself lose weight. I might switch over to swimming after I unfatten myself a little which should help maintain the muscle, but we'll see how it goes. So anyway, I'm looking into the following things:

When should I run? (before lifting, after lifting, run early in the day and lift late, lift early and run late, or cross train)
What should I eat?
When should I eat in relation to workouts?
Supplements? (probably not, other than vitamins and protein after lifting)

There are so many options I'm considering...I like Pain's split if I want to do cross training, but if I want to run more than 3 times a week I'd have to run on the same day I lift, so, maybe I'll start with that and progess on. I don't know. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :shootme:

I know it's my second day back running and my legs were sore from my first run, but I ran abysmally slow today. There's really no excuse. I did about 3 miles in something like 45 minutes. It'll drastically improve over the next two weeks, but man.

So, I ran, did six 'striders' to loosen up my legs and help them remember proper form and then did this:

1-2-07
4:20-6:00

Squats

135 lbs x 12
185 lbs x 10
225 lbs x 8
255 lbs x 8
255 lbs x 8

One Legged Leg Press, Then both legs together at same weight immediately after the set
230 lbs x 12, 230 lbs x 25
280 lbs x 12, 280 lbs x 20
300 lbs x 10, 300 lbs x 20
300 lbs x 10, 200 lbs x 20

DB SLDL
50 lbs x 12
70 lbs x 12
90 lbs x 10
100 lbs x 8

Seated Calves
270 lbs x 12
360 lbs x 10
450 lbs x 10
450 lbs x 8

Fascia Stretching, Abs

Aftermath:

Legs are toast. They're going to get at least one, more than likely two days, and even possibly three days of rest. Tomorrow is chest and arms :hsughr:

Are these single leg at a time? If so, how many stares do you get from people as you do them (I used to get heaps of funny looks doing anything on 1 leg)?

As for the running, if you keep it more akin to sprint work, and as a seperate workout, then it can actually be quite anabolic.

Nah, just regular straight leg deadlifts. That would be tough on one leg...

Sprint work :shootme: That's what I've been discovering with my research...I'll have to include one or two speed days a week. Makes sense, I guess...all the great sprinters are jacked.

Here's the skinny:

1-3-07
6:00-7:50

Abs first, because my gym is full of a bunch of New Year's Resolution n00bs that were on my incline benches

Incline DB Press

60 lbs x 12
85 lbs x 8
100 lbs x 4...DROP 80 lbs x 4
85 lbs x 6...DROP 70 lbs x 3

Decline DB Press
70 lbs x 10
80 lbs x 10
80 lbs x 8
80 lbs x 8

Flat Bench Press
205 lbs x 4
185 lbs x 9

Fascia Stretching for Chest

Two-Arm Overhead DB Extensions
75 lbs x 10
75 lbs x 10
75 lbs x 10
75 lbs x 8

Dips
BW x 10
Bw x 8
BW x 9

DB Kickbacks
15 lbs x 20
25 lbs x 12
30 lbs x 10

Fascia Stretching for Tris

BB Curls
45 lbs x 15
75 lbs x 10
105 lbs x 7...uh oh Tweaker, I was wrong :hammer:
95 lbs x 6
85 lbs x 8

One-Arm Cable Curls
30 lbs x 12
50 lbs x 8
Drop set, one arm at a time:
50 lbs x 10, 30 lbs x 10, 10 lbs x 12

Fascia Stretching for Bis

Aftermath:
Aside from taking a long time because of all the n00bulae, it wasn't a bad workout. Disappointed with the flat bench, but I was pretty fried so I won't let it get to me. My legs are feeling great (I guess that's what 10 hours of sleep does :hsughr:), so there will probably be running tomorrow.

Also, the arm is fantabulous. I'd give it about a 98% :xyxthumbs:
