As for Jay, he's maybe the most intelligent bodybuilder out of all the Olympians. He knew when to retire without losing fans and without involving in a lot of drama, like Kai Greene does.
He was a beast in his prime. It must of been really hard to compete against Ronnie Coleman, because he was the unbeatable dog in his prime as well. However, Jay did a great time by stopping his pro career at the right time.
I wanted to post the same picture. What do you see in the picture? I see the fact that Jay won't compete anymore (and that's better for him). Why? Look at his right arm. The rupture in the biceps can be seen with ease; now imagine how it would look on stage. Even with all the steroids in the world, you can't fix this kind of problem. Yet, Jay remains an icon I would definitely want to hear more from.
