kr - I agree with Tunen. I used to train in a simialr method to you and made some decent gains so stuck with it, the main set max and loads of recovery time. I didn't see any reason to change it and risk losing the momentum I had accrued but decided to look the way of frequency and it really has made a tremendous difference. I have been hitting PB's in pretty much every session for the past few weeks so I know it's the greater training system through practise.

However as you've said you are making gains and enjoying it so it's up to you, but don't discount it. If nothing else it might be something to look at when you've had enough of your current routine or hit a wall.

Good session though by the way - those dips are coming along! :)

130 kg , 5 reps (get to hit the 140 kg next week)

Stiff Leg: (my straps failed me, i can get more reps for sure!)

100 kg , 8 reps
140 kg , 8 reps
160 kg , 9 reps (improved from last week)

DB Lunges: (reps per leg)

12.5 kg , 6 reps
17.5 kg , 6 reps
30 kg , 6 reps (improved from last week by 5 kgs)

Standing Calf:

100 lb , 12 reps
130 lb , 12 reps
170 lb , 15 resp (improved by 10 lb's)

Seated Calf:

20 kg , 8 reps
30 kg , 8 reps
50 kg , 8 reps (improved by 10 kgs)

was a great session, im just starting to get into the heavier lifting with my 5 by 5 protocol so the coming weeks will see me using more weight which is fun. i improved on most other lifts today, especially claves which really need improvement.

my Girlfriend is training with me and she managed 10 reps of 30 kgs on the seated calf today, with great form, she has amazing form, because im a stickler for it! nah she is just a natural, but she has always had amazing claves which is the first thing i noticed about her the night i asked for her number, i think im subconsciously trying to erase my gentic weakness of small claves through her. her efforts made me improve mine today, so its proving beneficial, plus she pokes fun at the fotty boys who do knee hiccups instead of sqauts.

keep it real, i just finished my second last uni assignment ever, have one more on 'the hero and the Dark lord in Adolescent fantasy' and a core teaching unit exam and im done. i also cracked a HD in one of my English curriculum units today, smart, good looking and buff as shit......genetic lotter winner right here (disregard the calves and slightly to high bodyfat percentage)

i used to stiff leg 180 kgs, but thats when i was doing DC style and you did hammies before qauds!

i think it high heels dude, my mrs has a massive shoe collection and has been wearing heels for years, thats what i think, but she is philiipino so i think them asians have big calves fro trudging around in the rice fields lol.......hahahaha!

200 lb , 12 reps (improved)
200 lb , 8 reps
200 lb , 7 reps (i need to do warm ups on this exercise first i think)

Reverse Grip Row:

60 kg , 8 reps
80 kg , 8 reps
100 kg , 12 reps (improved)

Rack deads:

160 kg , 5 reps
170 kg , 5 reps
180 kg , 5 reps
200 kg , 5 reps
210 kg , 5 reps (hard as, 220 next week)

Barbell Shrugs:

100 kg , 6 reps
120 kg , 6 reps
140 kg , 7 reps (stagnant, fucked after rack deads)

Reverse flyes: (fucked from deadlifts lol)

12.5 kg , 18 reps (stagnant)
12.5 kg , DNF (fucked)

was a pretty good session, hurt my back a little on the rack deads so i took 5 mins break before i did the 210 kgs, it was harder than 2 weeks ago when i last did it, im just going to eat up big this week and next, to try and give me plenty of fuel to heal and recover, and im going to try and get that 220 kgs for 5 reps, im keen as!

also im not happy with my progression on my lat pulldowns, i think i need to start warming up to a big weight, instead of just doing 3 max sets!

was fucked by the time shrugs and reverse flyes came along, was simply spent, made last weeks efforts but only just!

got an exam tomoroow and an essay due on friday, so im into the books.

gotta write 2000 words on 'the hero and the dark lord in fantasy novels', i'll nail it because i am a word smith!

mrs promised me anal sex last night, i need to study but, and she is cooking dinner so i might let her off...........might! sometimes you just gotta punish. but she deadlifted 25 kgs today for 10 reps, which is good for a newbie who is only 60 kg's and a girly girl, i think she loves the weights now, kind of arousing, like your mumma's hahahaha. time for honey chicken homo's later!
