Too much eye candy there?

Also, thanks for the compliment on the incline strength after flat pressing. I might stay at this weight for just a little longer and focus more on form than maxing my gym out at the 130's.
Maxing out the gym! Cool!

This is motivating me to pull my finger out and work a bit harder.

Banshee - Oh, stop. You flatter me so much :gaygay:

Always glad to see you posts in here; it means a lot.

Pumba - I've never squated 500 before (most has been 450) but if you want a race you've got it :ughnoes:

Tim - It's great to hear I'm in any way motivating someone as experienced as yourself. Sadly, no maxing out the gym today; we focused on heavier flat pressing.

Chesticles - It's an honor to hear I've impressed the almighty Chesticles! Even if it is only slightly.

UPDATE: Trained Chest/Shoulders/Arms with Glex tonight at a new gym on campus. Will post the update soon.

:49: :49: Ah, now I can post my session.

Trained Chest/Shoulders/Tris with Glex tonight at a newer gym on campus. I actually hadn't been there but it's pretty "state of the art" I suppose. That being said, I like the adjustable benches at our regular gym better and the water fountain fucking sucked which really pissed me off. That being said, the new place does have its charm, and I prefer the dumbbells here more, particularly the grips on them which are thicker but a much more receptable design to hold.

We also focused more on flat pressing today than anything else. For shoulders we kept the reps higher and because my elbows bothering me a bit, tricep work was kept in the moderate to high rep range. Anyways, here goes...

Date: 1.22.07

Time: 9:45 pm

Duration: 1 hr 15 min

Chest
BB Bench Press
Set #1 - 135 pounds x 15 reps
Set #2 - 185 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - 225 pounds x 8 reps
Set #4 - 245 pounds x 7 reps (+1 spotted rep)
Set #5 - 275 pounds x 3 reps
Set #6 - 295 pounds x 2 reps
Set #7 - 315 pounds x 0 reps
...first attempt ever at this weight; almost got it.
Set #8 - 275 pounds x 2 reps (+1 spotted rep)

Shoulders
Seated DB Press
Set #1 - 70 pounds x 15 reps
Set #2 - 70 pounds x 12 reps
Set #3 - 70 pounds x 12 reps

DB Side Lateral Raises
Set #1 - 20 pounds x 20 reps
Set #2 - 20 pounds x 20 reps

Hammer Strength Standing Shrugs (first time trying the machine, not a big fan of it)
Set #1 - 270 pounds x 10 reps
Set #2 - 360 pounds x 8 reps

Triceps
Two-Arm Overhead DB Extension
Set #1 - 80 pounds x 12 reps
Set #2 - 100 pounds x 10 reps
Set #3 - 100 pounds x 10 reps
Set #4 - 100 pounds x 12 reps

...that's all for today. Bench felt pretty strong which is why I went for three plates. Fortunately Glex gave me a good spot (for once) so I was never in any real danger. It felt good changing up rep ranges a bit, hopefully this will be something we can continue to practice in upcoming sessions.

That's it for now. Until next time: hit 'em up! :weightlifter:

Big weight as always Lines, I agree with tim, just lessen the warm up sets and you'll hit the 315 :2: You've inspired me with those studly weights for my shoulder workout :spy:

Well, he's kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."

CJU - :49: Thanks for the kind words on my strength and it's always nice to see some new names posting in here. Glad you stopped in

Tim - That's actually what I was thinking too. Funny thing was, I didn't go into the session at all with a gameplan to bench 315; things were just progessing well so I thought I'd take a shot. A few sessions from now I'll give it a go again but with fewer sets beforehand seeing how I'll have it planned out.

FF - Yeah, it would've been a personal best so I'm not too upset. Hopefully next week I'll put it up no problem...it's just a matter of time now.

Banshee - Thanks, I'm really hoping to get it up soon. I know 315 is just an arbitrary number and all, but it's little milestones like that that keep me going. As for the 20 reps on laterals, I'm definitely feeling that today :Badger:

Chesty - :49: :49: I'm not sure if I was laughing more at the "studly weights" or the Simpsons quote. Looking forward to checking out your shoulder workout :xyxthumbs:

Palmetto - I ended up taking like two weeks off over break when I was moving furniture every day for some money. So in a sense I was still getting a workout but obviously my eating and strength training suffered. Thanks for the well wishes, it feels great to be back :hsughr:

UPDATE: Trained Legs/Back/Bis with Glex tonight. I'll make my usual rounds to everyone else's log and then post mine up.

No fancy intro today. All I'm saying is I wanted to go heavy on squats. Here goes...

Date: 1.23.07

Time: 10:30 pm

Duration: 1 hr 20 min

Legs
BB Squat
Set #1 - 225 pounds x 8 reps
Set #2 - 315 pounds x 4 reps
Set #3 - 405 pounds x 2 reps
Set #4 - 455 pounds x 1 rep...PB
Set #5 - 405 pounds x 2 reps

Seated Hamstring Curls (16 total settings)
Set #1 - Setting #10 x 12 reps
Set #2 - Setting #12 x 8 reps
Set #3 - Setting #12 x 8 reps

Standing Alt. Calf Raises (while holding a plate)
Set #1 - 45 pounds x 12 reps
Set #2 - 45 pounds x 12 reps
Set #3 - 45 pounds x 12 reps

Back
DB Rows
Set #1 - 100 pounds x 15 reps
Set #2 - 130 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - 130 pounds x 8 reps

Hammer Strength Iso High Row
Set #1 - 270 pounds x 11 reps (don't ask)
Set #2 - 360 pounds x 6 reps...PB

Biceps
BB Curls
Set #1 - 75 pounds x 12 reps
Set #2 - 95 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - 105 pounds x 8 reps
Set #4 - 105 pounds x 8 reps

...that's it for today. I got to the gym a little before Glex so I warmed up a bit and was feeling good so I decided it was going to be a heavy squat day. Felt great putting up 455 for the first time but next time I'm going to go a little lighter and probably do heavy deads instead. Tomorrow I have off so I'll try to make it to classes (both are for my major so I probably should).

Time to rest. Until next time: hit 'em up :weightlifter:

man I can't believe how many sessions of yours I have missed :tear:

crazy weight as always, youve gained quite a bit of strength back very quickly, its quite amazing. I keep telling you if you were to be more consistent that it would be very frightening at how strong you would get :skurred:

Glex is creeping up on you with those rows of his  you better fix it

great sessions and I wont miss any more sorry about that lack of posting :tear:
