I know you can do more weight on DB curls though  I wanna see you dominate 60's next time, or else :spy:

Natureboy - I've actually had somewhat similar problems with hacksquats myself in the past but I made a few adjustments to the angle I was pressing at and the weight as well. I think normally I would've gone for at least 50 more pounds for the same amount of reps but decided to back off and go for more volume. Ended up feeling great.

CJU - Thanks, bro. I actually really thought about pulling 500 that day but will try it out next week sometime. I'm really looking forward to be in the 5+ club for both deads and squats sometime soon.

Glex - Apparently I was ready to dominate chest :49:

BB - HEY, Brother! Long time no see. Glad you stopped in to check out my progress. Expect even bigger things to come.

Chesty - :49: So we're sticking with Ralph Wiggum quotes, eh? LOL. Always appreciate the comments, and yes, next time I'll try to go heavier on curls (I actually thought I was going to do 60's last time but ended up getting too fatigued :e5dunno: )

UPDATE: Glex came back from his weekend excursion and we banged out Chest/Shoulders/Tris tonight. Will have the session posted very soon...be ready to be surprised.

You dont even know the levels of domination, and you wouldnt even know domination if youve seen it.

:spy:

Line dominates at a very high level, probably around a level 10... out of 12.

Tweak - You can steal "hit 'em up" when you can squat more than me :hello:

Glex - I hear that poor guy died of the toothache in his heel :e5dunno:

Paulie - LOL, the 10 out of 12 thing reminds me of This is Spinal Tap when the band talked about how their amps were louder than everyone else's because they went up to Level 11 instead of just 10. :49:

Here's my Chest/Shoulders/Triceps session with Glex. Felt really good going into the gym and after the first warmup set I knew it was going to be a heavy day for Bench. Hopefully I'll just have more and more sessions such as this one, even when dieting.

Date: 2.26.07

Time: 9:10 pm

Duration: 1 hr 30 min

Chest
Flat BB Press
Set #1 - 135 pounds x 10 reps
Set #2 - 225 pounds x 6 reps
Set #3 - 275 pounds x 2 reps
Set #4 - 295 pounds x 2 reps
Set #5 - 315 pounds x 1 rep...PB
Set #6 - 325 pounds x 1 rep...PB

Incline DB Press
Set #1 - 100 pounds x 10 reps
Set #2 - 110 pounds x 8 reps

Shoulders
Seated BB Military Press
Set #1 - 185 pounds x 8 reps
Set #2 - 205 pounds x 4 reps
Set #3 - 225 pounds x 4 reps...PB

DB Lateral Raises superset with Rear DB Raises
Set #1 - 30 pounds x 12 reps AND 30 pounds x 10 reps
Set #2 - 30 pounds x 12 reps AND 30 pounds x 10 reps

BB Shrugs
Set #1 - 315 pounds x 8 reps
Set #2 - 315 pounds x 8 reps

Triceps
Hammer Strength Dips
Set #1 - 270 pounds x 12 reps
Set #2 - 320 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - 360 pounds x 8 reps...PB

Straight-Bar Cable Pushdowns
Set #1 - 140 pounds x 15 reps
Set #2 - 160 pounds x 12 reps

...and that's it for today. Little bit of a longer session but I wanted to do a little bit more volume in my chest and triceps; not because they're lagging anymore than usual but they're two of my weaker areas and with dieting I'd like to keep them at their best. It felt great to put up three plates on Bench and hopefully 350 is right around the corner (you see that, Pumba?). I was also really happy with how my seated military has been progressing right along with my chest numbers.

Tomorrow is heavy squat day for Legs/Back/Bis so stay tuned. Until next time: hit 'em up :weightlifter:

:49::49: I love that rocumentary.

Funniest part of the movie is when they play a song where at the start they all come out of pods, and one of the guys gets stuck in his for the whole song and gets out just when the other band members go back into there's. He steps out, looks around, throw up the rock N roll sign and goes back into his pod :49:

Very good session of Chest, shoulders, and triceps! Congratz on the bench press, you show Pumba what youre about, 350 within the next month, im callin it :spy: well I dont know about that soon since your dieting.

Incline DB press was pretty huge, good job on that :xyxthumbs:

And the seated bb military press was massive, thats more than I can bench :tear:

How often do you do cardio? I havent seen a cardio session I dont think. Well keep it up and hit em hard! :uhoh2:

I appreciate all the kind words on my Bench, Incline, and Military Press. To answer your questions, I probably will hit 350 on Bench within the next month because right now my diet isn't too hardcore. I'm just getting everything regimented (so far so good), and cleaning out all the unnecessary items (I gave up pizza for Lent and am severely cutting back on beer). I plan on hitting many more PB's until I get into the final stages of my diet :xyxthumbs:

As for cardio, I don't really do it until I stop seeing progress from diet alone. My metabolism is good so I can get down to about 10-11% without any cardio and will probably start adding it 3x a week around the beginning of April (great birthday present to myself  ).

Hypo - Thanks, I really try to make my log as easy to follow as possible. Hope you like the leg session from tonight :xyxthumbs:

UPDATE: Things aren't going too well for me outside the gym right now but I'm really using those shortcomings to fuel my workouts. Right now I feel as strong as ever and even though I'm slowly coming down in weight, I plan on keep pushing myself as hard as possible on each session. Here's Legs/Back/Bis...

Date: 2.27.07

Time: 8:45 pm

Duration: 1 hr 15 min

Legs
BB Squat
Set #1 - 225 pounds x 4 reps
Set #2 - 315 pounds x 4 reps
Set #3 - 405 pounds x 1 rep
Set #4 - 455 pounds x 1 rep
Set #5 - 475 pounds x 1 rep...PB
Set #6 - 485 pounds x 1 rep...PB

Seated Leg Curl (16 total settings)
Set #1 - Setting #12 x 8 reps
Set #2 - Setting #13 x 8 reps
Set #3 - Setting #14 x 6 reps DROP Setting #8 x 12 reps...PB

Single-Leg Calf Raises
Set #1 - BW+45 pounds x 15 reps
Set #2 - BW+45 pounds x 15 reps
Set #3 - BW+45 pounds x 15 reps DROP BW+25 pounds x 8 reps DROP BW x 8 reps

Back
Pullups
Set #1 - BW x 8 reps
Set #2 - BW x 8 reps
Set #3 - BW x 8 reps

BB Rows
Set #1 - 225 pounds x 8 reps
Set #2 - 245 pounds x 6 reps

Biceps
BB Curls
Set #1 - 85 pounds x 10 reps
Set #2 - 105 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - 115 pounds x 4 reps
Set #4 - 115 pounds x 4 reps

...and that's it for today. Tried to hit it as hard and heavy as possible today and I think I definitely went above and beyond that when it came to blasting my legs. By the time I got through my three sets of pullups I was pretty thrashed overall though; the slight increase in volume coupled with heavy weights isn't something I'm used to quite yet. I'm still thrilled with the session and with setting two more PB's on squat...it's scary to think that 500 is right around the corner.

That's it for now (time to read up on some neurobiology), until next time: hit 'em up :weightlifter:

Dam that's a big squat. Are you going to try for 500 next time or just chuck 10 lbs on at a time? We definately need a pic or vid of this squat Lineo :spy:

Chesty - :49: Mayor Quimby is one of my favorite characters. Tomorrow is leg day again but I think I'm going to stick to hack squats for that session and see how I'm feeling the following one and go for 500 then. Tomorrow I might be going for 500 on deads though :spy:

onebigeric - I really appreciate the concern, my friend. A lot of it was caused by incidents that had nothing to do with school but then in turn affected my school significantly. I buckled down yesterday and emailed all of them and explained my situation (much harder than you'd think) and they've all been very positive so it's a big relief to me.

Anyways, as far as my workout goes, thanks for the kind words there too. In the fall semester I never would have though I'd be squatting 5 plates by now because, hell, I hadn't even squatted 4 until around October. We'll be seeing 500 in squats and deadlifts very, very soon. That's a promise.

EDIT: It says there are 6 guests viewing my log...I know I'm sexy but... :uhoh2:

Well, my university has decided to celebrate St. Patrick's day for the town on March 2nd because everyone was upset that it fell during our Spring Break and they wouldn't be here to drink. Because of this, and my raging alcoholism, I've decided to train for four straight days with Glex and then take Friday off to engage in the festivities. Today was our standard Chest/Shoulders/Triceps session but because it was so close to the last one we took it a little easier (and did more high-rep work) but had a little less resting time between sets.

Date: 2.28.07

Time: 5:10 pm

Duration: 50 minutes

Chest
Flat DB Press
Set #1 - 90 pounds x 8 reps
Set #2 - 110 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - 130 pounds x 4 reps
Set #4 - 70 pounds x 15 reps

Shoulders
Seated DB Press
Set #1 - 95 pounds x 7 reps (+1 assisted)
Set #2 - 70 pounds x 11 reps

DB Lateral Raises
Set #1 - 25 pounds x 15 reps
Set #2 - 25 pounds x 15 reps

DB Shrugs
Set #1 - 130 pounds x 10 reps
Set #2 - 130 pounds x 10 reps

Triceps
DB Skull Crushers
Set #1 - 35 pounds x 15 reps
Set #2 - 45 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - 45 pounds x 10 reps

...and that's it for today. No new PB's but I felt it was a productive workout nonetheless. The high-reps were definitely harder than I thought they'd be but it was a welcome change of pace before trying to topple some more heavy BB benching records.

Tomorrow is Legs/Back/Bis and I really am considering just doing deadlifts singles first to see if I can crack the 500 mark. It's already scary to think that in the past week I've set a new PB on squats, deads, and bench and I'm feeling confident enough that I will only continue to improve.

Oh, and our gym finalllyyyyy got a working scale and I weighed 223 with clothes on so I'm probably right in the 220 range. That's it for now, until next time: hit 'em up :weightlifter:
