130s for 4 is very impressive Joe :xyxthumbs: the 110 for 8 is even more impressive and I love that light set finishing it up.

the shoulder work following that heavy flat work is even more impressive, putting that amount up after hitting flat so hard blows my mind :eek4:

excellent skull crushers and shrugs as well, tomorrow lets see that 500 on deads :xyxthumbs:

Really nice job on the flat db presses, 130 is the highest your gym goes? I bet that feels really good when you can max out the DB's.

And the huge shoulder presses are really impressive after you have dominated your chest presses.

Shrugs are good and the skullcrushers as well. How did you get 45 x 8 on the second set, then 45 x 10 on the third set? just a lack on focus on the second set??

well anyway, great session, and good luck with that deadlift tomorrow!

Big bench Lineski, likewise with the shoulder presses. I'd like to see you do shoulders first, it'd be nearly as big as Paulie's penis :spy:

Tweak - Thanks, to be honest I was disappointed with my performance with the 130's; I really thought I could get more. I really think resting less between sets and not frequenting the water fountain quite as much was harder on my body than I thought it'd be. Also, even though I did Flat Pressing first, I still want to start putting up the 100's on Shoulder Press for my working sets so you better believe I'm going to be working towards that sometimes soon. And yes, those last lighter burnout sets really torched me.

Paulie - Good question regarding the amount of reps on my skullcrushers. To be honest, my right elbow has a tendency to click and it was bothering me more on the second set than the third. Also, I originally planned on using the 50's for my third set so I left a little bit in the tank during my second...however, when it came time for my last set, both pairs of the 50 pounders were missing.

I appreciate the kind words with the pressing movements. Sadly, 130 is as high as my gym goes and although it does feel good, I also at the same time wish we had DB's that went up to at least 150 so I can continue to progress in strength and size instead of merely adding reps.

Chesty - Glex and I might be doing shoulders first sometime in the near future because his weights for those movements always go up and down so an immediate goal of ours might be to level out his shoulder strength. Also, it can't hurt to pre-exhaust my delts before doing chest movements because I feel that doing so will activate my pecs moreso than when they have help from my shoulders.

And of course, thanks for the quote...I might have to start busting out some Abe Simpson quotes in your log :xyxthumbs:

FF - Glad you posted in here and thanks for the compliment on the 130's. Hopefully I'll be putting them up for 8-10 reps sometime soon but my first goal is to hit 350 on bench :food-snacking:

UPDATE: I will be training later tonight with Glex where I will, barring me feeling poorly, attempt to deadlift 500 pounds. We'll probably do them first so I'm as fresh as possible going into it. Speaking of which, I'm going to need to get some sleep soon as I was up almost all night studying for a neurobiology exam.

A final note - it now seems more likely than not that Glex and I will be traveling to the AC expo on Saturday and arriving sometime in the early afternoon. Hope to see some other members from the site there, but either way you can be assured I will be taking lots of pictures. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you guys tonight

Paulie - I'll be there

FF - No need to apologize for missing sessions. Just happy to see you posting in here again.

Fallen - I'm glad my workouts get to inspire you in any way. Things are actually looking better for me and I really appreciate your concern.

UPDATE: Well, I'm drunk. I had a pretty good session (though I ate wayyy to close to going) and put up some good weights. In a way, I went out to celebrate with my friends (I was going out anyways but now I had a reason to drink) and basically kicked back and relaxed tonight. Like a similar session last week, my routine was really scattershot and seemingly out of order today...just check it out and I'll post more below...

Date: 3.01.07

Time: 6:45pm

Duration: 1 hr 30 min

BB Deadlifts
Set #1 - 225 pounds x 4 reps
Set #2 - 315 pounds x 1 rep
Set #3 - 405 pounds x 1 rep
Set #4 - 445 pounds x 1 rep
Set #5 - 475 pounds x 1 rep
Set #6 - 500 pounds x 1 rep...PB

Hack Squats (weight listed was that added to sled only)
Set #1 - 180 pounds x 12 reps
Set #2 - 270 pounds x 12 reps
Set #3 - 270 pounds x 12 reps

Hammer Strength Iso-Lateral High Rows
Set #1 - 320 pounds x 8 reps
Set #2 - 360 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - 400 pounds x 6 reps...PB

DB Preacher Curls
Set #1 - 30 pounds x 12 reps
Set #2 - 30 pounds x 12 reps
Set #3 - 30 pounds x 12 reps

Standing Machine Calf Raises
Set #1 - 335 pounds x 10 reps
Set #2 - 375 pounds x 8 reps...PB
Set #3 - 395 pounds (entire stack) x 8 reps...PB

...and that's it for today. I am thrilled to finally be a member of the 500 pound club and will be even happier when I put up 5+ in squats as well. To be honest, the 500 was hell...it was seriously one of the most painful three seconds of my life. That being said, I'm glad I was able to complete the rep (though sadly I forgot my camera to film it) but from now on I'll probably lighten up about 50 pounds and focus on doing sets of 4. Also, even though I didn't do BB Squats my quads got a nice workout from the Hacks and right now I'm looking forward to relaxing and recovering the next two days. It looks almost certain now that Glex and I will be traveling to the AC expo on Saturday so I hope to gain a few lifetime memories and meet some great friends.

That's it for now. Until next time: hit 'em up :weightlifter:

Hack Squats are great, and are those rows the weight combined of both sides or just one side at a time? either way the weight is quite amazing.

no spyder curls? :tear:

nice calve raises at the end too chicken legs :hay:

again congrats on hitting 500, thats a huge mark and hopefully 600 will be in the not to distant future :weightlifter:

Fuck yeah man 500 lbs! And congrats on your PB's, there's alot of them in there :xyxthumbs:

No pics or vids though :tear:

I wish I lived in America so I could go, noone wants to come to Aus :tear:

Duffman: "Duffman wants to party down with the man who sent in 10,000 Duff labels to bring me here today. I've got a bottomless mug of new Duff Extra Cold for, Barney Gumbel!"
All: "Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!"
Barney: "I can't, I'm the designated driver!"
(Everything stops)
Duffman: "Yeah that's swell, Duff wholeheartedly supports the designated driver program. Now! Who wants to Party!"

Four PB's coupled with an entry into the 500 club is definitely a memorable session. Excellent work Line:xyxthumbs:

Motivating me to officially post at least a 500lb deadlift now, as I know I'll never be on the map there for squats; just don't do 'em myself. Thank you, as always, for the drive Line:D

Tweak - LOL, thanks a lot for the compliments and although 600's a long way off I would like a 500 club shirt! :hsughr:

Paulie never gave me a prize this weekend :tear:

Chesty - As always :49: at the quote, I can never get enough Duffman. Thanks for the props, I'll try to get some vids of me lifting soon.

onebigeric - To be honest, I didn't even know I had four total PB's because after the Deadlift things were just kinda hazy, LOL. Your comments always mean a lot and it'd be awesome to see you pull 500 soon too. Don't worry about not being close with squats, they're are overrated anyways :spy:

BB - Well thanks but apparently I need to do 505 in order to actually impress you :49:

Tim - LOL, Glad to see you're still finding time to post and thanks for the compliment; it was certainly quite the day.

FF - Thanks for the kind words as always :2:

[Many Adjectives]Paul - Hey, thanks for stopping by and checking out my log, bro. Right now I'm 21 y/o 5'8" and right around 220lbs. I just started dieting and my bodyfat is probably right around 14%. Once again, thanks for stopping in and also for the kind words.

UPDATE: Me and Glex finally got a session in after returning from our trip to the AC expo this past weekend. Upon returning my allergies started really acting up and Glex had been sick since last Friday so we waited a few days more than usual to get back in the gym. We were able to hit Chest/Shoulders/Tris tonight and I'll have it up shortly :food-snacking:

Well earlier today I was blowing my nose like every five minutes but after an afternoon nap it cleared up enough that I was able to get a session in. I'm pretty happy with the numbers and have been aiming for doing around 80% of my max on my pressing movements now on days where I'm not really pushing my limits. Here's how it played out...

Date: 3.6.07

Time: 9:50 pm

Duration: 1 hr 25 min

Chest
Flat BB Bench
Set #1 - 135 pounds x 10 reps
Set #2 - 225 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - 260 pounds x 6 reps
Set #4 - 260 pounds x 6 reps
Set #5 - 260 pounds x 6 reps
Set #6 - 260 pounds x 5 reps (+1 spotted)

...60 seconds of Fascia Stretching for Chest...

Shoulders
Seated BB Military Press
Set #1 - 185 pounds x 8 reps
Set #2 - 225 pounds x 3 reps :disgust:
Set #3 - 205 pounds x 6 reps

DB Lateral Raises Supersetted with DB Rear Delt Raises
Set #1 - 35 pounds x 8 reps AND 35 pounds x 8 reps
Set #2 - 35 pounds x 8 reps AND 35 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 -
35 pounds x 8 reps AND 35 pounds x 8 reps

BB Shrugs (felt harder than usual today)
Set #1 - 365 pounds x 6 reps
Set #2 - 365 pounds x 6 reps

Triceps
Dips (Real ones :xyxthumbs: )
Set #1 - BW + 45 pounds x 10 reps
Set #2 - BW + 70 pounds x 8 reps
Set #3 - BW + 90 pounds x 8 reps
...I hate you, Tweak

Rope Pushdowns
Set #1 - 100 pounds x 15 reps
Set #2 - 100 pounds x 15 reps

...60 seconds of Fascia Stretching for Tris...

...and that's it for today. I'm happy with the amount of reps I was able to do with 260 on Flat Bench and to be honest I could have gotten closer to 8 for my first two sets with it. I was pretty disappointed with only getting an ugly 3 reps on BB Military but hopefully that will improve soon. I'm also, as you have probably noticed, doing a bit more volume for triceps right now...damn bicep-oriented genetics.

There's also a few funny things that happened in the gym today but I'm sure Glex is posting them so check out his log as well :food-snacking:

That's it for now. Until next time: hit 'em up :weightlifter:
