180kgx2 Thats good m8. Not maybe best of u but still strong squatting. That whole leg session was solid.

Nice deads bro :xyxthumbs:
Just a tip, when you come down tap the ground and come back up. When you stop like that you break tension and then you pull again, it puts you at greater risk of injury and makes your ability to rep the weight diminish. It's like doing the first rep every time. But you kept your form and pulled that shit like a champ :2:
You do make a good point there. Thanks bro:tiphat:

We all have our ways of doing deads, but atleast I prefer to do them like Lionheart, to pull the weight from start for every rep. Just to tap the weights on the floor will only fool you that you can do more reps than you actually can, especially if the plates has a outer layer made of rubber. Then it will bounce like there´s no tomorrow.

I think you have it backwards, not tapping the weight on the floor (not bouncing) will prevent you from doing as many reps as you can do. Lets not fool ourselves into thinking that you can fool yourself by doing more reps. If you can deadlift 400lbs only 4 times your way, and then 6-8 times my way... what do you think is more beneficial?
Of course if you weights are rubber this could pose a problem and means you have control the weights more on the eccentric part of movement. But doing it that way puts you at great risk of injury, also you want to maintain tension throughout the exercise like any other.

Excuse us Lionheart, for hijacking your log : )

Im not sure what you mean by tapping the weight on the floor?

Johnnie Jackson performs his deadlifts in the same manner I do mine, but on the other hand he trains more like a powerlifter. I was taught how to deadlift by a powerlifter so I guess the technique got stuck. I was able to rep alot of my max weights before, until I started doing all my lifts without straps, and by putting the weight down before pulling it up again. I can only speak for myself, but my back has improved quite good, comparing to the results I got previously, by employing this style.

P.s I do not belive you have to train a certain way cause the pro´s do it that way, just for the record : )

I believe that is my old gym, actually I was taught how to do my deadlifts from JOJ himself. When I mean tap, I do not pause at the bottom I still complete the motion but unlike JOJ in the video as soon as I hit the bottom position and the weights tap the ground I come back up. Normally when I saw JOJ do deads he did not pause at the bottom like he did there. He actually doesn't squat down as low as he did in the video, he always would tell me he preferred to take the legs out more and only bend the legs as much as he would have to to lower the bar and keep the back straight. :e5dunno:

Yes, they go around your wrist and then the bar. Very essential for deads and most back movements. Just do not rely on them too much, only when you need them. You still need to get your grip stronger and build forearms.

Great job. I do my lifts like Braaq - when the weight touches the ground - up I go again without the pause. As you say, each to their own. Superb weight lifting buddy.
