Why do you guys always test your strength after you deload..? Why not the week before you deload, so you can start a fresh new protocol with the new Max 1 RM's

Why do you guys always test your strength after you deload..? Why not the week before you deload, so you can start a fresh new protocol with the new Max 1 RM's

Because we're normally slightly overreached after completing a full protocol, lasting 7-8 weeks. So deloading and recovering by using lighter weights for a week allows for our CNS to fully recover before attempting any new max lifts.
