Jono: I like my rows, they are like a light-weight version of Kroc Rows.

Pickle: It was a phone meeting, golden shower would have been difficult to arrange.

Bulky: The day felt good, but I think the main thing was that I had no pressure to cook, etc (the wife is away for a couple of days).

It seemed a shame that a nice day be wasted without training, but I really didn't feel like doing any training. So I did some cardio.

30mins of rowing. Didn't really push myself, but got sweaty and in need of carbs.

:rofl3::rofl3: man, how in the hell can you interpret shock over a phone?

Cheers guys. Squats this evening. Mixed up a free pre-workout sample I got with my last supplement order. Black Powder, has creatine, bet-alanine and a caffeine of some sort in it. Tasted like orange flavour Staminaid, very drinkable. Unfortuneately I didn't realise it was eppervesent so it actually exploded as I was shaking it to mix. So only got to drink half of it, but I can say it was pretty decent stuff, I may actually buy some next order.

These standing calf raises are performed with no toes?

ahaha sorry for my bad english. Do you use a step or they're done directly on the floor?

Ahh gotcha now. I have a step that I use normally, but at the moment I've been able to use the step. I have a foot injury of some sort that is antagonised by doing the calf raise on the step. So instead I'm just doing them as raises on the ground.

I've found in the past that just off the ground calf raises only seem to maintain calves and not really stimulate them to grow. It was the reason I built a step to use, as soon as I did my calves started growing for the first time in years.

Thank you. I have a really hard time doing them off the floor with free weight (no Smith machine), with no step, I just can't keep my balance. I thought it was a good way to overload the calves, using a limited ROM and heavy weight.
I made that analogy after seeing this pic:

But from my experience I found a dominant glycolytic type training more eficient to estimulate muscle growth.

Rob: try getting a couple of 20kg flat plates and place them on the ground, then do single leg calf raises with a dumbbell. You can set up near an upright support or a wall for balance.

Jono: Thanks dude. I was pretty happy with those squats. Working off of Wendler's calculator I've added 22kg to my squat in two cycles of 5/3/1. Reality I've probably added about 10-15kg.

Thanks. I know that one, pretty good.

Strong overhead presses, especially the jerk.
