thanks guys=) was a good workout, always good to be back in the gym lifting heavy, after a deload and some rest days. felt energetic today.

tate presses:

good exercise, hits the tris really hard, and it doesent seem to aggrevate my left elbow as much as scullcrushers. also, my right tris is alittle stronger than my left. and this one allows me to balance out alittle.

Hey mate...I'm from Australia (Sydney).
Molde...cool. I briefly went there. I have some good friends who live in Stryn (havent been there yet though)...that's fairly close to Molde from memory. I definitely want to get back to Norway, such a cool place. I originally planned to be in Norway for a couple of weeks (I did the Hurtigruten cruise) and visited some friends in Bergen, but ended up getting a job and staying for 6 months.

Never seen anyone use tate press. Have you ever tried just doing lying french press with dumbells? That keeps some of the pressure of the joints.

It looks like it would hit the pecs as much as your tri's.

Chadcruz: ah cool, ye stryn is not far away. aussie huh? id like to visit australia one day for sure. too bad about all those poisonous animals of urs lol:D

Flex: ye ive tried lying french press with dbs before. but tate presses i actually feel more in my tris. i definetely do not feel it in my chest, its an iso movement if done correctly. my triceps are completely destroyed today:D i may give db sculls a go next time again though, just to compare. thanks for checking in:2:

I am not looking forward to hitting deads with 5/3/1... I'm going to have to keep a bucket handy whenever I go past 5 reps.

thanks guys. deads werent that heavy, my grip gave out as usual. fucking hate the fact that my grip is the weak link and dies out before my back and hams. however, the good mornings finished my lower back and hams completely so it was good:2:

and ye freako, more than 5 reps on deads are killer. my lower back just pumps up to the extreme:D ull get used to it though.

comin up: ye, i figure i dont need more than 1-2 sets for rear delts, considering the amount of back work i do.

ooook, so yesterday i did cardio. ran/fast walked up on that same mountain. took me 40 minutes up and down this time. 10 minutes less than last time. noticed i was breathing alot easier this time which felt good. the most uphill parts were still hard as hell though, and i had to slow down sometimes.

later today im doing bench press. check it out:2:

5/3/1: Cycle 2: Week 1: Day 3: Bench press:

Bench press:

3 warmup sets

80kgx5
92.5kgx5
105kgx10

Incline smith press:

75kgx12
75kgx7 (45 sec rest explains the drop in reps)

Pushups: (done almost immediately after the smith presses

mex32
mex18

Pullups/Chins:

mex15 (overhand)
mex10 (overhand)
mex9 (underhand)
mex8 (underhand)

Barbell rows:

1 warmup set

110kgx9
110kgx8
110kgx7

Db bench rows:

25kg'sx15
25kg'sx15
25kg'sx15
25kg'sx17

One armed machine rows: ( pretty much the same movement as a db row in how it hits the lats)

125kgx11
125kgx9

Incline db curls:

20kg'sx10
20kg'sx7
20kg'sx7

thats it, had an insane pump going in my back when i was done. however i once again got carried away and did alittle too much assistance. i think i have to move some of the assistance on this day over to my military press day which is always done in like half an hour.

all in all it only took me about 1 hour to complete the session though and almost no sets were done to failure, so i think ill get away with the little high volume;)
