Rocky- The time is now:hsughr:

Glex- Nah, your fandom of Rush doesn't stigma you as a n00b. This entrant is....really something.

Philosopher- Thank you for stopping by:)

Alright, da morning has come and the updates are here. I'll start with my sessions from last week, then I'll tackle my two-a-day from yesterday. Today will be chest for sure, and probably forearms along with it.

Quads/Chest

Leg Presses(I found out that the sled weighs 120lbs, so all my numbers get to go up:D)

670X15(warmup)
1020X15
1110X15
1200X12
1290X10
(The new addition puts my previous PB at 1380)

Single Leg Presses(Equal reps on bith sides)

480X10
390X13
300X18

Barbell Hacks(I didn't go as heavy on these; form was nice and tight)

135X15(warmup)
185X15
225X12

Leg Extensions

150X15(warmup)
250X15
290X11

Chest
My strength was definitely down a bit for this as a result of working a major group before it, but it was a good session nonetheless.

Incline Barbell Presses

135X15(warmup)
315X10
295X10
275X11
225X15

Hammer Strength Wide Chest Flat Presses(The only machine I've found that works for my center pecs; think Dorian in Blood 'n Guts)

225X15(warmup)
315X15
365X13
415X7(PB:hsughr: )

Dumbbell Pullovers

90X15(working warmup)
120X15
140X8(PB:hsughr: )

Decline Barbell Presses(Just to hammer in the pump)

185X15
225X15

All in all, a good session. Now on to....

Shoulders/Triceps

Now my shoulders ended up being pretty fatigued after the chest session from my previous workout, but I was able to do well enough by them all the same.

Cybex Shoulder Press

205X15(warmup)
295X15
385X7
385X.....failed:no:(Quite frankly, this pissed me off a bit; ergo the drops of death)
295X8(ds)
250X7(ds)
205X10(ds)
165X13(ds)
115X17(ds)

Barbell Military Press

185X15(working warmup)
225X12
245X8

Bent Dumbbell Rear Laterals

65X15(working warmup)
75X15
80X14
100X8(PB:hsughr: )

Triceps

Close Grip Bench Press

135X15(warmup)
225X15
275X10
285X7(PB:hsughr: ...I think)

Standing Rope Pushdowns

100X15(warmup)
130X15
150X15
150X16(These hurt A LOT)

Standing Angle Bar Pushdowns(Not quite a v-bar, but angled to take the pressure of one's wrists)

130X15
150X12
150X16

And that was that. On to...

This was yesterday's session. Extremely satisfying all around, and I hit a new goal to boot.

Morning-Biceps(Did these at home, and 70lbs were as high as my humble dumbbells go)

My strength was high for these, and I felt it kept up well to boot. I'm going to switch back to training biceps primarily, instead of having it follow a major group.

Seated Dual Dumbbell Curls

45X15(working warmup)
55X13
60X12(PB:hsughr: )

Standing Alternating Dumbbell Curls

50X15(warmup)
60X15
65X13
70X12

Spider Curls

45X13
50X10
55X9

Concentration Curls

50X13
55X12
60X9

Afternoon-Back

Lat Pulldowns

180X15(warmup)
240X12
270X8
300X9(PB on reps...I think)

Bent Barbell Rows

165X15(warmup)
225X15
275X10
315X9

Deadlifts

225X10(warmup)
315X10
405X6
505X2(I seriously had trouble here, and I realized that I wasn't quite mentally primed. Fixed that right quick; thank you Kittie's Funeral for Yesterday-even though virtually all of their other stuff sucks, I dig this song)
545X1

..............

575X1(WOOT!!!PB:hsughr: :hsughr: :hsughr: )

Any serious and comparably sized powerlifter would likely smoke my deads, but I'm happy with my brick-by-brick increases. Safe and steady:)

Single Arm Dumbbell Rows(equal reps on both sides)

110X15
140X10
150X13

Hyperextensions

BW+45X20
BW+45X19

Calves

Upright Seated Leg Press

275X15(working warmup)
380X15
410X15
410X16

So that was that. A greater emphasis on free weights for my back has really brought back some positive results. I hope to hit the 600 Club in deads in no less than a month and a half, but I do have a family vacation that I'm actually hopping onto the week of the 13th-there goes six days. I'm taking my home gear with me though, and my nutrition will stay steady as well. Here's to hoping our hotel has a gym:ughfingers:

As always, thank you for your encouragement and motivation:) Chest and n00bs WILL be later this afternoon; breakfast and a blessedly short shift on patrol are calling my name. Until then:2:

Serb- Being tall can be nice, but it definitely has its drawbacks as well. Thank you for hitting my log:)

Dobbs- Thank you:2: 600 is coming, step by step. The fact that you'll likely be doing the same by the time you're 20 makes me work even harder for time lost.

Hypo- :49:Since they always get me screaming, a little fear on their part would be nice:)

Alright, here's the chest/traps from today. I wanted to hit forearms as well, but there were entirely too many placeholders taking up all the space:disgust:

Chest

Incline Dumbbell Presses

80X15(warmup)
100X15
110X10
120X7

Incline Flyes

65X10(warmup)
75X12
85X11(PB:hsughr: )

Decline Barbell Press

135X25(warmup)
315X6(not hitting these first took my strength down a bit)
295X7(ds)
255X8(ds)
225X10(ds)
185X11(ds)
165X18(ds)

Traps

130X15(working warmup)
140X15
150X15
160X11
180X6:)hsughr: A planned PB, unlike my previous 200 stint)

And that was that; all done in just shy of an hour. An excellent pump in my chest, and my traps were well stocked as well. Ended up spending about 15min of my workout time re-screwing the ends of the high-end dumbbells in; stinking n00bs keep dropping 'em:no:

Heavy weight i see like always. Shit load of weight to be doing fly's with. Hit incline db's instead of bb i notice, which u like better? Decline looks good too, 315 x 6 is damn impressive, i know uve gotten a bit more than that but like u said considering u did 2 other exercises, and heavy with them, u looked strong their. Yup keep hitting those shrugs heavy too, i can only imagine that will also help ur deadlift go up.

Do you smell cabbage? No? It must be.....

the stench of n00b:ughnoes:

I'll narrow it down to the top three of recent memory, one of which is a special inductee:spy:

-Our first distinguished member of the list is actually someone I kinda know. The kid competed in a Utah show, coming in as a decently conditioned lightweight. I have definite respect for him in that, but as we shall see, he's a n00b in the area of deads.

So I see him ante up to 225, and he pounds out a few solid-ish reps. Then, the prodigious third plate makes its entry. Now the 225 seemed like enough for him, but he was too busy wrapping himself around the concept of seemingly herculean weight. All of a sudden, two quarters join the seemingly confused third plates.

Then the ritual begins. Oddly enough, it involves a lot of sticking his butt up straight in the air and shaking it to the four corners of the earth. After about a straight minute of this, he looks into the mirror, jerks the bar(while still having his butt sailing in the stratosphere).....and moves it about an inch and a half. Dropping his attempted ego-stroke, he then looks around as if to discover witnesses to his recent semi-campaign against impossibility. He sees me, I give him a 'wassup' nod, and he promptly engages the nearest gym bunny in conversation. The moment ceased to exist for him, but I'll always remember....and laugh a bit:49:

-The second member of the elites is one who personifies a special hindrance; the kid had no inner dialogue whatsoever. Now all of us play the psyche game, but the fact of the matter is that the talking generally goes on inside our heads. This kid was an extrovert of massive proportions.

The fact that he was sporting a pink i-pod on an arm strap should've been an indicator, and in hindsight I guess it was. He had a number of rolling conversations with himself in a bold talking tone, I absolutely kid you not. He was sprouting freaking paragraphs to himself, all in an effort to curl that 45lb bar one more time...:uhoh2: It was seriously hilarious, and it took the greatest effort to date on my part to not break down laughing around him.

The kicker of the whole experience? I finish my session, and am in the midst of prepping myself for the blessed de-stink spray(which, I might add, a shockingly bad amount of members fail to do now:uhoh2: ). The loudspeaker walks in, does something, and prepares to again stalk to the stage of his own private/public speech training. Thing is, he tunes in a new song and starts singing it out loud. Not just any song mind you, but likely the most cliche pump up song of all time. I hear him whisper/blare...."let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor...." Sweet. Merciful. Crap....:49: :49: :49: Drowning Pool was just the icing on the cake for a steaming pile of n00b.

-Now for the special inductee. A member who brings a prodigious frame to the list, as well as a certain grammatical flair. The newest n00b is.......................me:duh:

So I had just finished my back session of the 565lb deadlift, and I was feeling a little peaked. I was still contemplating a continuation of my session though, so I found myself stymied in a brief moment of thought. Unbeknowst to me(or maybe it was just the impulses lagging to my brain), I had left my water bottle uncapped, which was currently at my side. Apparently my mind wasn't aware of ANYTHING else my body was doing, for my left hand swept down and made my decision for me. My kong-sized paw hit the protruding cap of my shaker/water bottle, spilling its contents against my leg. I avoided the dreaded crotch hit, but the message was clear; I was done. Yep, for a dim moment, n00b was me:tear:

Dobbs- I prefer the barbell, but mixing it up is always good. The dumbbells help me with my overall stability, so I guess it's really sixes. The shrugs definitely do help me with my grip strength, ergo I believe they help my deads.

Geez, back with a vengeance! I laughed at the dropsets of death; that is weird that you didn't get any on the next set, but you punished yourself pretty good for it. Incredible PBs everywhere, especially that 575 deadlift :ughnoes:

I wouldn't worry too much about comparably sized bodybuilders smoking your deads; big Ron himself had a fun time with 800 x 2 (can't imagine his max is much over that), and you'll be approaching the 600+ milestone soon without the aid of whatever it is he's taking, lol.

n00b  :49: I say if you've just done over 500 pounds in deadlift, you're entitled to a slight loss of motor function. You're certainly no n00b in my book, though it was funny :xyxthumbs:

So many sessions to comment on - so much herculean weight. So many goddamned impressive PB's I don't know where to begin.
Major props on that Deadlift which is obviously a standout amongst the other hugely impressive figures. Seriously full credit.
And it even manages to counteract your induction into the n00b hallf of fame! :)

jesus christ i can never prepare myself for what i'm about to see in your log. i click on "last page" and i say to myself "ok...eric is strong as fuck...i should be prepared to see easy 300+ high rep benching" but it's still a shock when i see your workouts. 315X6 on declines....150X13 on DB rows!!! and that DL.....575!!! wtf....how do you resist the urge to lift anything that looks heavy when you're walking down the street? i'd be lifting parked cars and bending street lamps whenever they were near.
