THE MONKEYS The funniest thing about this whole movie was the monkeys. the boosted the score from 5 to 6 :gaysign:


Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) - 7.5/10
Very good!!! The new one looks like crap, but this one was awesome. I was a little letdown at the lack of 'monsters'(mole people!!!).
Still, it was a great movie.

i only watched the copy where you could see the strings and un finished effects

it was decent movie to watch, shame about the copy i watched
but looking forward to see what the next X-men will be

Deadman. I didn't intend to watch this again, because it was the late movie and I have been on the road for 3 days, but watched it anyway.

They are doing a Jaramusch cult series on SBS. Brilliant. Want to see Ghost Dog again.

Anyway, here are samples from three recent DVD reviews I've written and the corresponding links to the rest of the text...

At a glance, the film can be summed up simply: blah, blah obvious expository stuff, blah, blah, straight-up badassery, fin. It can be said that Taken is solid for what it is, assuming that it is intended to be a Bourne-type genre flick, which I argue it’s not.

Throughout it all we’re asked to feel empathy for our lead, which is something I couldn’t muster, personally. Instead, I felt bad for the actor playing him–Dustin Hoffman.

Despite enjoying the film on some levels, namely its potential for being existentially evocative, I never felt fulfilled by the end product. From the standpoint of craft its decidedly excellent yet it can also be glossy and clumsy—sometimes careless—in its projection of theme.
