Meh, ***

It was going very well until the end when it turned into a Signs remake :duh: There was a part about 40 minutes into it that foreshadowed that the message of the movie would be God's plan related.

This is not usually a problem, however the name of the movie is I Am Legend. It's supposed to be about the guy, not God's plan.

Will Smith is fantastic in it, though. Definitely pulls off the one-man show.

SPOILER ALERT: ///////////////////////////////the cure should not have survived///////////////////////////

^^:49:Fact.

I felt Will Smith was incredible, and the movie overall was excellent in my eyes. The end felt a bit contrived/forced though, as if they'd scrambled for a solution to the impossible situation they'd set up. That minor quirk aside (Possible spoiler Alertand just how did they build a freaking Great Wall Compound of Vermont?) the only other thing I really could have used more of were flashbacks/details concerning the fall of New York/America/The World. For movies in this genre, the trip to the setting is half the story to me.

^^Is that in regard to the recently released 'ultimate-whatever' edition of Blade Runner Line? The film itself is one I've always told myself to see, but have just never gotten around to.

Just watched Six String Samurai.
It wasnt as good as i had hoped.
Basically it was a mental patient's wet dream.

I liked how Buddy(rock and roll) faced off against Death(heavy metal).
Good, not great.

I enjoyed Karate Kid 3 far more than the 2nd, it was much more similar to the original. Not sure why it only has a 4.4 on imdb, but the guy who plays Daniel Larusso is a terrible actor.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I saw the final cut but who knows with Ridley Scott. I expected a bit more from it, not from a visual or contentual standpoint, but some scenes came off as forced and a bit silly. I need to watch it again though.

Haven't seen it but most ratings on IMDB suck.

Another handful. I've been busy lately and got another 6 films for Christmas.

Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead (Lumet, 2007) **1/2
-Well acted but shallow and emotionally manipulative.

Michael Clayton (Gilroy, 2007) ***1/2
-Solid genre picture though the second act is a bit slow.

Talk to Me (Lemmons, 2007) **1/2
-If nothing else, an entertaining biopic but had a very indecisive finale.

Charlie Wilson’s War (Nichols, 1007) **1/2
-A fun filmed marked with overly simplistic political commentary.

Blow Up (Antonioni, 1966) **
-Well shot but thematically it's all but empty, especially in juxtaposition to the richness of its visuals.

Wild Strawberries (Bergman, 1957) ***1/2
-A nice, methodic film that doesn't run quite as deep as some of Bergman's other works.

Minority Report *** :uhoh2::dunnodude:
The Breakfast Club being rated higher than Minority Report = complete fail.

Andrei Rublev (Tarkovsky, 1969) ****
-My second favorite Tarkovsky after Stalker.

Persona (Bergman, 1966) ****
-Incredible pseudo-avant garde from a masterful director.

I watched No Country for Old Men last night. Good first hour or so then it started to go down hill. Ending was so anti-climax.

Good movie though. Fargo is still my favorite.

It's hard for me to find something that I don't like in most Coen Brothers films. I haven't gotten around to No Country yet though; thank you for the write up, Line:)

Why do you always pick on my reviews, Line
:e5dunno:

Girl, Interrupted *****(greatest movie i've seen in a while).
Clue ****
The Prestige **1/2(stupid Christopher Nolan, letting Bale do what he did. And the outcome was lame.
Nolan should be thrown out of Hollywood :ihavesandinmyvagina ).

I started watching Wonderland with Val Kilmer...
Looks sweet!

Even though it's for the wrong reasons, this is the best rating you've given a film so far.
