Ronnie Coleman has come out of retirement, so to speak, to win the 2009 Megalympia contest.

It wasn't easy for the Big Nasty.

He had to fend off such greats as Lee Haney and Sergio Oliva.

In the final round he came up against Numero Uno himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Arnold gained votes for being ahead of his time and not having all the "goodies" today's pros have, but was also said to have weak legs.

Coleman was praised for his mass, glutes, massive legs, Mr Olympia wins etc., but was said to have no calves, gh bloated gut and having access to all the modern "goodies".

A lot of people thought Arnold had the more pleasing body and such factors as what he had done for bodybuilding, personality etc. also played a role, but it looks like in the end, "Lightweight Baby" Coleman will be declared the ultimate winner.

Congrats to both of them. It was a very interesting, fun and entertaining contest, with many favorites doing very well and some falling out in the early rounds.

The people have spoken. :eclipsee_gold_cup:

Proudly wear your crown as the real People's Champion, Mr Coleman!

Yup, Ronnie in his prime IS the best bodybuilder of all times. There's no doubt about that in my mind atleast.

Final standings!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After many hard fought battles and a great deal of forum discord, Ronnie Coleman has added the 2009 Megalympia title to his contest resume. With a 60% to 40% win over Arnold Schwarzenegger, the battle came down, in a large part, to generational preferences. Those in the Schwarzenegger era lauded the Oak's combination of size and V-taper. The voters from the Coleman era went with Ronnie's freakish 270+ pound mass.

Yates came in a strong third, beating The Myth, Sergio Oliva with a similar margin, and for similar reasons, as on the Arnold/Ronnie match. Here's the full rankings:

1 Ronnie Coleman
2 Arnold Schwarzeneger
3 Dorian Yates
4 Sergio Oliva

Witness the second coming of black jesus....

This is Ronnie off the 2001 Arnold Classic, which in my opinion it is the most under looked Ronnie Coleman, people are always talking about his Olympia contests that they over look his other appearances.

Check out Ronnie muscle insertions on his arms, his conditioning, and the fullness of his chest and back

And here is his routine at the competition ( i know these are reposts and i hope im not being annoying but i just thought it would be kinda cool for the people who are already here and wouldn't mind seeing Ronnie at the 01 ASC ). Notice how much more Full he was at this finals routine than he did at the post win photoshoot i posted above.

I don't see how Dorian Yates was not voted as the best of all time. Just take a look at those black and white photos Kevin Horton took of Dorian before the 93 Olympia. Coleman might have had larger arms, but Dorian blew him away with every other body part and conditioning. I've seen every top bodybuilder on stage since 1977 and no one came close to Dorian's conditioning. He looked like he was carved out of Granite. Dan Duchaine thought the same thing as he was my friend and mentioned it in many occasions.

I dont have an issue with Ronnie winning but it has to be a massive herd of Morons to put Lee Haney at 9th, Jeff King at 31st and Vince Taylor ar 53rd.... WTF guy with the 2nd highest number of victories in IFBB Pro contest history got 53rd?
