@GLEX functional strenght is what people call "Real world strenght"
like you may know someone who can do Lat pull downs with let's say 275lbs like 8-10 times but they can't do 10 pull-up with thier bodyweight

Nature: Yeah, I was kinda joking, like what real world situation requires lifting yourself off the ground 60 times in a minute? I was also agreeing with you; it definitely plays a role in bodybuilding, if done right. It could also come in handy for survival (I can't pull myself back up this ledge!)

Thanks to everyone who wished me well on the PFT! It was definitely a lot of encouragement, and I thought of it during the run.

I let out a nice loud Ronnie Coleman, "Yeah buddy!" after I finished the run. A lot of people looked at me funny :49:

So, I maxed it once again, all except the waist measurement :disgust:

Here's how they break down the score, on a 100-point scale:
10 points for a max on pushups
10 points for a max on situps
50 points for a max on the run
30 points for a max on 'body composition' (i.e. waist measurement :disgust:)

I lost 7.5 points for having a 35 inch waist, so my score out of 100 is 92.5 :disgust: To show you how jacked up that is, if someone had a 32 inch waist, same score on pushups, same score on situps, and a 10:36 on the run, they would BEAT MY SCORE :disgust: Also, the max waist measurement is independent of height (<32.5 inches for everyone) :disgust: I can't put this little disgust face enough :disgust: :disgust: :disgust: :disgust: :disgust: :disgust: :disgust: :disgust: :disgust: :disgust:

Oh well, I maxed everything that I could, so that looks good on me for the pilot slot stuff :ughfingers: Thanks again, everyone! I just started taking creatine again and I'll be lifting with Line regularly again, hopefully starting tonight, so stay tuned :xyxthumbs:

So a tub-o-lard that is only 5'5" that is running a whole minute slower than you (which is a long way between people over 10mins, +300m) would still supposedly be better!

Oh well, at least your score is impressive enough overall!

Great scores Glex, very proud of you! That is so lame about the waist thing....I hate how those tests have things all out of perspective. :disgust: Great job though 9:31 mile and a half is awesome. :)

Nice workout man, big squats. Try a thumb over grip for chins, I think it works better, but thats just me :spy:

Good effort at giving the weighted pullups a go. I've always found that adding weight is easier than adding reps. But the reps come once you've added the weight.... funny that stronger = more reps.

Tim: Yeah, that's kinda what I figured. I'm going to start doing weighted pullups more often, even though I can't do that many right now. I'm sure they'll come.

Banshee: They're not :disgust: Line has been busy, and I've been sick for the past few days. Whatever Sara had is trying to get me, but I'm not letting it get me as bad as she was. Hopefully tomorrow evening Line and I will hit up some upper body. Not sure though :e5dunno:

I'm working on it, though. I really don't see anything wrong with using straps to do more pullups. My grip fatigues before my back, so I might as well, especially on weighted pullups which I never tried before. If I get to the point where I can hold on for much longer than I can do pullups, then I won't use 'em. Simple as that.

Squats went up pretty easy...like I said, I probably had one or two more on the last set. But man, were my legs dead the next day! Rows are alright...was more focused on keeping my form, especially since I was helping out my friend who made that lifting program for ROTC. Gotta be a good role model :uhoh2: They did feel good, though. Thanks for coming in as always, cutie :spy:

Natureboy: It was about 2 hours, yeah. I shot the shit with a few people and was teaching my ROTC partner some thigns, so probably about...oh, an hour and 45 of actual work? Gotta burn them calories :xyxthumbs:
