Hercules Hold....pretty innovative stuff Glex. Let others look at you strangely; just keep doing what your body responds well to. Keep it up:xyxthumbs:

Chesti: Well, it's the stacks of 190 on each arm, but given the mechanical advantage it's really 95 pounds, right? I've never really figured out what to write for the cables; I always put the actual weight if it's a single pulley, and half the weight if it's a double. Then again, that's only true when the weight is moving, when it's stationary I guess it would be 190...hmm...::gets out engineering paper and starts drawing free-body diagrams::

Eric: Thanks for stopping in :xyxthumbs: I'm all for letting people look at me weird, just ask Line :49: I'm not sure what my body is going to respond to best for grip work, but it's something I'm trying to improve.

FF: I've actually gotten away from it a bit; last workout was the first time I've done it in a while. I think it does help a little, though, so I'll try to do it more often.

12-19-07

Cardio:

5 minute warmup on bicycle (waiting for elliptical)
40 minutes on elliptical, HR 125-135

Aftermath:
I debated lifting legs today, but after yesterday's hard run and sprints this morning at PT it just wasn't worth. Went for some low-impact ellipticizing, and it worked out ok. Tomorrow is hopefully legs, back, and bis with Line :xyxthumbs:

Chesti: It was more boring than anything :49: The 20 minutes you just did was much harder than my 40. I was doing it to help my legs recover while still getting some cardio in.

It worked perfectly, by the by. Legs feel great so hopefully Line and I will hit up the gym tonight :xyxthumbs:

FF: Thanks, and don't worry, hit up some legs today :xyxthumbs:

Fallen: Thanks a lot! I'll try not to disappoint :spy:

Tweak: It was actually pretty nice; the elliptical was in the loft of the natatorium here, so I got to watch some swimming. As soon as I walked in the building it made me want to go swimming...I'm definitely going to grab my stuff when I go back for spring break and get some swimming in. No melatonin yet...maybe tomorrow before my PT session Thursday.

Worked out with Line today, here's the skinny:

2-20-27
9:30-10:55

Squats

225 lbs x 12
225 lbs x 12
225 lbs x 12
225 lbs x 12
225 lbs x 12

One-Legged Prone Leg Curls (11 settings)
3 x 10
4 x 8
3 x 10

Calf Raises
275 lbs x 12
315 lbs x 12
355 lbs x 10

Pullups
BW x 8
BW x 6
BW x 8...straps
BW x 8...straps

BB Rows
225 lbs x 8
225 lbs x 8

Hammer Curls
40 lbs x 12
50 lbs x 8
50 lbs x 6
40 lbs x 10

Abs

Aftermath:

We'll see how the high-rep squats treats me tomorrow :skurred: I'm happy with the BB rows; I haven't done that much weight in a while and Line said my form looked good on the first set, and second set wasn't bad though I lost my angle a bit. I almost did some cardio but it was just too late and the skin on my inner thighs was bothering me so I just came home and did abs. Tomorrow's a day off unless my legs are good enough for some cardio. Until next time, everyone :xyxthumbs:

damn your squats, those are pretty great :xyxthumbs:

leg curls too are quite the sexified :gaygay:

good work hitting those calves making Joe look bad as always :spy:

straps on pullups again?? you didn't even have any weight added you cant hold yourself for 8 reps, I dont see how thats possible, that confuses me so much. You must have the grip of an infant :49:

straps on pullups really blow my mind to be honest, I just cant get it through my head :tear:

wait...Joe is explaining it to me now.......

in the meantime those rows are great along with those hammer curls too, skin on thighs was funny eh? Joe give you something didn't he  rat bastard

Joe explained it to me, very thin bar, no more confusion...no thanks to you :disgust:

2 points for Joe

Nice squats, and hammers big man. I to don't see why you need straps, I have the grip of an elderly woman with arthritis :spy: and even I can do chins without straps. Can't you target your forearms with hammers to, any difference in motion when doing bi's?

Tweak: Actually it was a thicker bar. But then you wouldn't know a lot about that :spy: :49: Thanks for the comment on calves; it's my specialty...that's what I get for being a fat kid my whole life. Squats were good; I didn't feel the intensity of soreness that heavy squats can give, but I think they were sore for longer. By the way, I got melatonin...not sure if I like it yet, I had some strange dreams...

Chesty: LOL. I can do some pullups without straps :tear: If the bar is thin enough I can usually get out 4-5 sets of 8-10. I am working on the grip. As far as the hammers go, yeah, you can target your forearms more, but from what Tim says I want to be focusing on actual grip work and timed holds. I should probably get me a gripper of some sort, or a bag of sand, or a rock...that would probably be more manly...

Tim: Yeah, it was a day off :49: I could have run, but I had PT the next morning so I decided to be lazy.

FF: It was pretty rough to get the last couple of reps on the last two sets. Like I said to Tweak the intensity of soreness wasn't so bad, but it seems to have lasted longer.

As always, thanks for stopping in, everyone! :hsughr:

DB Flat Press

80 lbs x 8
90 lbs x 8
100 lbs x 9 + 1 forced...PB :hammer:
110 lbs x 5...PB :hammer:
110 lbs x 3 + 1

Military Press
135 lbs x 10
165 lbs x 8
185 lbs x 4 + 1
I keep going up and down on this exercise

Lateral Raise Machine
110 lbs x 10
130 lbs x 10...PB :hammer:

BB Shrugs
315 lbs x 10
365 lbs x 8...pretty sloppy, not happy with it

EZ Bar Skullcrushers
95 lbs x 8
105 lbs x 6
105 lbs x 5 + 1
75 lbs x 18

Aftermath:
I was thinking of doing cardio and abs after, but I was starving, so I made a delicious chicken pot pie instead :eatmousepointer: Oh well, it was PT day anyway, so at least I got a little cardio and abs in there. I'm pretty happy about the 100 for 9 (almost had 10, Line intervened when I still may have had it, but I don't blame him at all), and also very happy with the 110 x 5 on the DB press. Another couple of weeks and maybe I'll be putting up a set of 8 on them :skurred:

Nice work. If you're hitting a DB bench PB I can imagine the military presses being hard to keep progress in.

Any workout with three PB's doesn't need any sissy cardio:hsughr:

Excellent work Glex. Progress like that is hard to come by every now and again, let alone with any degree of consistency. Keep up the plateau smashing:zangief:
