Rocky: Thanks man :xyxthumbs:

Bulkboy: Well, I generally do at least three exercises for legs and three for back, and if I do deadlifts that overlaps between the two. I don't think they need much more attention than that. Also, the point of the split is to get a higher frequency...two days on, one off. It's supposed to help with hormone release.

Running: 37 minutes

Ran a good pace up to the 26 minute mark, then got runner's trot :49: I was in a park so I went to an outhouse, but it didn't solve my problem. I had to stop again at the 31 minute mark to walk about a half mile, then I jogged it on home.

Aftermath:
The weight training sucked because my arm is hurting again. I think trying for the 255 on bench did me in pretty good. I did two because usually if I get one rep out I won't feel any more pain for the rest of the set, but it didn't work that time. Strangely, even though most of the pain is in my tricep, it doesn't really hurt on military press or tricep extensions :e5dunno: I think I'm going to have to stick to fly exercises for chest until my arm heals up again :disgust: I even bought a neoprene sleeve for my elbow before this workout, but it didn't help all that much. Then I got runner's trot on the run :49: I haven't done that for a while. So ends the workout that didn't...work out.

That's a shitter about your arm and restricting your chest movements. Weird that it doesn't effect you on military! Hope it doesn't impact on your training too much.

Dtan: Thanks, I'm trying.

Rageking: It's not a brace so much, it's just kinda compressing everything. I'm thinking a tighter one might help but I've already got the next to smallest size, and I'm not a small guy. I know it'll go away eventually, so I'm not terribly worried.

Bulkboy: It's too late :49: Ironic, isn't it? I get a pass to a gym and I screw up my arm!

Turkish: Yeah, I guess a lot of people weren't around the first time I mentioned this. http://www.musclemecca.com/showthread.php?t=2780&page=13 I have no idea what happens, but once or twice a year my arm goes bonkers. Usually it happens after swinging at volleyballs or throwing something, but this time it just came by unannounced. It's just this odd pain in my tricep/bicep...sometimes up into my shoulder. Usually if I can get a rep or two out on any given exercise it won't hurt for the remainder of the set. It hurts worst on bench press, and on most other exercises it's tolerable...although it really hurt on pullups today, too.

Rocky: Yeah, it's really weird. The pain is still there on military press, but it's way more tolerable.

Well, there's good news and there's bad news. Bad news, I'm working one or two graveyard shifts this week. Good news, I'm working one or two graveyard shifts this week, so I'm probably not going to get to train. The idiot who scheduled me put me on dinner, graveyard, dinner, graveyard, dinner, so I'm only going to have like 10 hours between some work shifts :ihavesandinmyvagina It'll give me a chance to rest up the arm, though. And I'm trying to switch out of my last graveyard shift to have more time at our family reunion on Sunday.

Arse about your work shifts screwing you up but some good work in there. Leg press and DB rows were solid.

Turkish: That's the plan :ughfingers:

Miami: It wasn't a PB on those calf raises, I just maxed out the machine. But thanks anyway!

Rocky: Yeah, hopefully it gets a little better. I think they're still going to put me on graveyard, but not graveyard dinner graveyard dinner. I'm pretty happy with the leg press, I was working on getting them deep enough. One of my legs is longer than the other because my back is screwed up, so I fiddled around with how I sat and I didn't have any of the pain I normally get on those when I go deep.

Bulkboy: Thanks man. I was trying hard not to cheat on the DB rows! I've done the 130s without cheating, but the last time I went with Line my form was all screwed up so I'm working my way up. This gym even goes up to 150, so watch out :ughnoes:

Alright guys, I work graveyard again tonight and then dinner tomorrow (unless I find someone to switch me), and I have a family reunion to go to tomorrow, too. So I'm going to try and get back to your logs once I get some sleep!

But for now, a quick update, I ran for 23 minutes at an easy pace, except for the last 5 minutes which I took at race pace. The same stretch took me 7 minutes to complete on the way out. Now I'm gonna do abs, get a shower, and relax before work  Only good news about that is I'll probably make close to $20/hour tonight.

your arm didn't bother you on rows any? I would think that it would hurt more on rows then any of those movements.

Deadlifts are good, not nearly as sexy as they once were but still respectable.

Have fun with those graveyards, hell if your pullin that kind of money its well worth it for the summer :xyxthumbs:

I feel you on those graveyards, Glex; they're comprising the bulk of my shifts at this time. Odds are, we likely interact with the same amount of drunks:linedrunk:

I'm sorry to hear your arm's acting up again, but it's obviously not put much of a dent in your work ethic. :49::49:at your calf raises, and the rest of the session was top-notch to boot.

Oh, and your 'workout that didn't' was anything but.

Tweak: Yeah, it didn't really bother me on rows much. Still not exactly sure what's wrong, but it's getting better.

BigE: If I don't keep doing stuff on my arm I feel like it won't get better, so I just try to do stuff and just take it easier.

The pain around my elbow is dissipating, which is revealing pain in my shoulder. I really think the problem is just inflamed tendons. I don't see much reason why the pain would be in every muscle in my upper arm other than that. The first time this ever happened was playing volleyball in high school. Ever since then I've hurt it by playing volleyball, walleyball, and throwing stuff overhand, the kind of stuff that can cause inflamation of the tendons in the shoulder. This time I don't remember doing anything in specific to set it off, but there could have been something. I had just started lifting again.

Quick update: Graveyard still sucks, but I'm trying to get some workouts in. I'm going to post my workout from yesterday up, and I'm about to go do another one. I should have time to get around to some logs later tonight before my next shift.

7-6-07

185 lbs x 10

Incline DB Press
75 lbs x 8

185 lbs x 1 + 2...not really sure how he was spotting me but I'm not counting the second rep

Hex Shrugs
+200 lbs x 10
+200 lbs x 10
+200 lbs x 10

DB Shrugs
75 lbs x 20

30 lbs x 12
35 lbs x 10
40 lbs x 5

One-arm Underhand Cable Pushdowns

Aftermath:

Took it really easy on the chest movements which is what hurts my shoulder the most. I hate to resort to the fly machine, but I wanted to do something to tire my chest out and take it easier on my shoulder.

Who is this Emerson of whom you speak?

Tweak said:

Yes, but not in the area where it hurts. I know if my shoulder hurts more on bench or fly.
