BB: Yes, the traps are still sore today :xyxthumbs:

Rocky: Thanks as always, Rocko :hsughr:

Turkish: I think I did enough, yeah  It was a little long, but since I can't really lift legs or lower back I tend to just try and get everything done in a day or two. And yeah, I'm back in State College.

Alright, I did a little less today: Chest, back, and bis. Didn't bring my log, but notables were:

Pullups
BW + 45 lbs x 2
Not so much impressive as just a record for me to try and break

Flat BB Press
135 lbs x 8
185 lbs x 6
225 lbs x 2
255 lbs x 1
275 lbs x 1
245 lbs x 4 + 1
Line said he got 245 x 4 the other day so I just had to do it :coolguy:

And then I went for a 25 minute run. It was really pretty solid, which surprised me after my last run. I know I did over 3 miles, so I'm pretty happy with it. I stretched in the gym and did some yoga before the run, so I think my hamstrings were a little warmer this time from the start, which led to a pretty constant tempo.

I'll probably hit shoulders and tris tomorrow or the day after. Time to eat, later all :food-snacking:

Ragekage: Thanks brother :tiphat:

BB: Yeah, I hope to do 4-5 with a 45 lbs plate in the near future...

Alright, once again I didn't take my log book with me, but I did do a shoulders/triceps/forearms session. I have to go to PT in 4 hours :ugh: night all.

^^ Thank ya sir :tiphat: Hopefully I'll hit 300 again soon...and then beyond :spy:

Ok, I didn't get everything in that I wanted to today, but I did a bit of a full body thing (minus the low back, of course :disgust:) because I decided to surprise Sara and drive to Monroeville, meaning I won't work out for a few days. Driving was a bit of an issue; I had to put a small pillow behind my back to keep my body in a position that didn't hurt. Speaking of which, I got MRI results back:

MRI LUMBAR SPINE

At L5-S1, there is disc desicccation and narrowing with vertebral endplate spurring. There is a central and left paracentral disc protrusion which effaces the anterior thecal sac and abuts the left S1 nerve root as it exits the thecal sac. No right nerve root encroachment is seen. There is question of a conjoined right L5-S1 nerve root sleeve. No central canal setenosis is seen.

IMPRESSION:
1. At L5-S1, moderate degenerative disc disease. Small central left paracentral disc herniation, abutting the left S1 nerve root as it exits the thecal sac.
Anyway, the doc said a back doctor won't look at me without me going to some physical therapy first :disgust:  :duh: :angrydude: :ugh: I wonder if they knew I'd had the problem for three years would they sing a different tune? Oh well, I'll do it for a few weeks, it'll do nothing, and I'll go see a real doctor.

Back on task now. I'm gonna preempt this with saying my strength was way down for some reason. Maybe it was because I had just ate, I dunno. But either way, here it is:

9-14-07

Flat DB Press

70 lbs x 10
90 lbs x 8

40 lbs x 10...............30 lbs x 10..............30 lbs x 10.............40 lbs x 10
40 lbs x 10...............25 lbs x 10..............25 lbs x 10.............40 lbs x 10
35 lbs x 12...............25 lbs x 8................25 lbs x 8..............40 lbs x 10

135 lbs x 15

Some great work in here Glex. Benching is awesome! The running is still top quality.

Shit to here about the back issues, I hope you get to see a proper doctor soon, and despite not feeling it in the last session you still got a lot done!

Sweet.....crap:ughnoes: That four-step giant set...I dunno. Freaking wars. That is all.

I'm truly sorry to hear about your back Glex. I know you'll take care of yourself, but keep us updated all the same.

Hey guys, sorry I've been neglecting my log. I'm still training off and on. I pretty much decided I'm going to do what I do regardless of what's wrong with my back. Honestly it doesn't hurt when I deadlift and squat...it does get a little tighter the next day, but it's not bad and I'm sick of not doing what I want to do. So, I'm trying to get back into running and I'm just being careful and going a little lighter on the movements with low back involvement.

Physical therapy is doing nothing. I gave it about a week where I actually backed off from training and running, did the stretches, focused on my posture...and no improvement. Not even a little.

I think the medial types are neglecting two points; I have a family history of this defunct back joint, and it doesn't hurt when I'm doing stuff...it hurst when I sit!

Screw not lifting. I'm gonna lift until it hurts and the 'doctors' can go fuck themselves. I'll just have to avoid sitting, of all things :49:

Once I get to a real doctor who can actually do something I'll do what I need to, but for now...I'm off to the gym :xyxthumbs:

Well I hope you know what you're doing, at least you're going lighter on the moves that are most likely to aggravet it. Are you gonna start posting up your sessions again?

Fallen: Health professionals...I sometimes think the 'good' ones are too confident and get complacent, and the bad ones just suck as usual. The giant sets are always murder :2:

Rocky: I pride myself on listening to my body...and it says that it can give more than I'm taking. I should be fine. My back was a little tighter after the deads but that went away in a day to the normal amount of pain I've been having. I might start posting...although I'm starting to enjoy the freedom of not keeping a rigorous log so they might become somewhat esoteric like Tim's log.

Bulkboy: Yeah yeah  I'm a little pessimistic about health care so I tend not to trust everything they say, but part of me thinks I should follow their instructions to the T. If I did that I wouldn't have any fun though, would I? :hsughr: And like I told Rocky, I listen to my body and its sick of not doing shit.

Alrighty well, let's see...updates on me:

I did two sessions in the last two days. One day I did light deadlifts...well...I guess 225 lbs isn't terribly light, but it could be much heavier. I only did two sets at 225: one was 8 reps and one was 6. I warmed up thoroughly before those sets.

Some pullups and whatnot...oh, I ran the last two days :hsughr: One was short (22:30) and one was mid-range (37:30).

I did 225 x 9 on flat bench yesterday :hammer: My chest strength has almost fully recovered...just gotta see what my 1RMs are doing these days :ughfingers:

Back is feeling ok. Not really getting any better or worse. PT tomorrow :disgust: and a doctors appointment.
