one arm dumbell presses are exellent for shoulder strenght.

nice squats. and ye, deads too close to a squat workout will affect it negatively. u need that posterior chain to be able to squat at full force.

today some bench presses up to 110kg

now rest and eating. Saterday is the big day, I am getting nervous.

Event day training with a real strongman

This guy was huge, 190cm tall, weighs over 100 kg. This was the first time in my life I would try to press a log, an axle, lift atlas stones and tires.

LOG PRESS
this was very akward, I went up to 70 kg easy but I couldn't lockout 80 kg. It was not a problem of strenght but of technique as he said.

AXLE PRESS
this was even weirder to press. A thick bar with tires on both sides. I wouldn't turn if you clean it so I failed to put my wrists in the right position. Was very frustrating because once again, weight wasn't a problem.

ATLAS STONES
I hated it, a stone of 110 kg. It sliped out of my hands.

TIMERS (oh yeah)
20 a 30 m with 65kg per hand (thick handles)
20 a 30 m with 85 kg per hand
15 a 20 m with 105 kg per hand (PR)
and I picked up timers of 125 per hand without breaking a sweat.
This is an exercise I can do at home, so I was pretty strong at it.

TIRES
filpping tires of 270 kg. It was fun, still lots of technique to work on.
I also fliped a tire of 400 kg with a little bit of help. Because it was simply dangerous te be crushed by that enormous thing. The strongman was impressed because it was my first time.

Training with a strongman, I would like to train with a good powerlifter. The guy must have taugh you some good tips. Flipping tires must be fun!

Strongman is awesome.

thx Xiva, I also love it. I know I don't have the possibilty to mean something in the sport in Flanders, I am simply to light. But what I do know is that I can make myself as strong as I can be and be stronger pound per pound.

But you can bulk up :)

anyway if you want to be a strongman, you also gotta do steoroids, which you were against as far as i remember :)

I can bulk up, but I am far to much concerned with my looks haha. Steroids are for losers imo. Don't need them
