Was supposed to do two more sets @ 150kg, but my leg was feeling a bit tender. Just glad I got the 170kg reps up.
DB rows
8@45kg
10@45kg
Did some pinch gripping stuff and some pushups after this.
Turns out it wasn't backward hyperextension of my wrists, it was sideways hyperextension. When I have my grip really narrow I find my back is tighter and my arm/wrist is straighter
My leg just wouldn't come good, so I decided to stop smolov and take a week or so off to let it heal properly etc. I want to start doing some other lower body movements and start deadlifting again as well as concentrate on accessories for awhile, I also need to do a lot of work on my upper body.
What I'm thinking is:
Mon: MP, Pullups, incline db bench, DB rows and dips
Tue: Deadlift, overhead squat, GHR/GM, core exercise
Wed:
Thu: Bench, shoulder press, pullups, DB rows, dips
Fri: Front Squats, GHR/GM, core exercises
Sat:
Sun:
I'm not sure whether I want to run an ME/DE bench kind of thing or do MP/Bench days. Any input would be awesome.
Not returning to 5/3/1? You could run the singles variation. I don't put much stock behind DE movements for bench, I reckon RE is better, DB benching in particular. The Westside template is good but I think you'd do better with 5/3/1 until your bench gets stronger.
Hahaha, sorry, I have trained this week, tested my MP and Dead max.
MP was terrible, struggled with 70kg and couldn't get 80kg off my shoulders. Deads I equalled my previous 180kg max, 190kg wouldn't get off the ground. Not to disappointed with the deads seeing as I havn't deadlifted in like 4 months, and I havn't trained legs for 2 weeks. Give me a few weeks to sort out my form again and I'll be pulling +200kg in no time
